I have one of my R's motors stripped down as far as I need to and I seem to have found a ball bearing that I dont know where it goes. From the book I see one goes inside the clutch lifter rod, but I never took none of this off. I took off the linkage from the top side and flipped the engine upside down. Could it be from down there? Any ideas.

Also I needs to strip off layers of paint from my motor. Any suggustions?

Last but not least I need a seat latch for the bottom of my fenders and have no idea where to get one. Anyone know if they fit from any other bike? Anyone have one to sell me. Thxs

Ya I am looking at a manual and it seems that there is only one ball bearing in there. Perhaps where I had it upside down with the linkage out it came out that hole. No I didnt email you from ebay but I just found a 81 and a 82 R there beat to death for cheap as a pair. Thxs for the quick reply. Guess I have to fire up the snad blaster tomarrow.

Like you said, I bet when you flipped the engine the ballbearing came out of the pushrod hole.

After looking it over a dozen times, both the motor and the book, I believe that is what I have done. You have a 70 BGM? I have one for my little fella. She needs bearings, seat recovered, and plastics but runs perfect.

I know for one of the old ones with the two piece rear fenders in decent shape minus rear fenders, three flats and not running. Josh are Rieds has it. Not for sale, but call him anyways.
