I'm really considering opening up the flow on my 200s with possibly a larger carb, cam, and exhaust. If the specs. on the home page are right, a 200s comes with a tiny 22mm carb. and right now i see a ton of 26-30mm new carbs on ebay for pitbikes in the 30-45$ range. Are there any special things to look for on a different carb, other than making sure it will actually fit? My main question is how big can I go before my carburator is too big, along with other mods.
I do plan on opening up the exhaust and getting a cam. For the cam I want to get a used 200x/xr200/xl200, right? I dont really feel like paying big$ for a webcam or something, unless i can get a deal on a used one. For the exhaust im thinking maybe adapting a muffler from a larger atv and possibly a custom head pipe. Will my head need ported to take advantage of these mods? If lightening a flywheel is just a matter of putting it on a lathe, taking some down a little at a time, and weighing it on some kind of scale, that might be something I can do too.

run a 200x carb, 200x cam, good port job, lighten flywheel and get yourself a good exhaust. as far as a lighten flywheel goes i had i guy here on the forums do it for me. my understanding is if one gets lightened to much it is useless. my 200s motor has all the mods you have mentioned plus a couple more. i dont know if you wanna do too much to it man. i go threw clutch plates like they are water and my recoil bites the dust all the dam time. but if you wanna do all them mods it will still cost ya a good penny.

yea i dont wanna put too much money into it, but i was kinda surprised at how cheap i could get a larger carb on ebay. Does there happen to be anyone on the boards that does portwork for a reasonable price?

got a bid on a xr200 cam and a 26mm carb on egay. If i get both of those can I plan on a pretty good gain from stock hp if i free-up the exhaust too?

Look for a nice 200x exhaust and you will notice a big improvement and it will bolt right on. Just the exhaust will run outside the frame not through it anymore. If you could find yourself a nice roller 200x, you could just put your 200s engine in it. Also the 200x carb would go real nice on the 200s.
