That's quite a difference between the two! The Wiseco is my old 12:1 that I blew up due to water ingestion. The White Brothers is actually made by Arias and is a 3mm overbore at 68mm and is also 11:1 on it's compression ratio. Which do you think is the better piston?

Well for one thing your comparing them skirt to skirt, not from the center of the wrist pins. Looks like they are basicly the same just one has a longer skirt. Personally, Id just use whichever one is newer.

It was kinda a retorical question. I know the Arias is better. Yes the Arias has a longer skirt and I know wrist pin height is the same. What I'd really like to know is if anybody has ever had one of these in their X and how did it perform?

I remember back in the day a buddy had an '85 200X all decked out for racing, that's when the AMA actually had trike classes.Anyway's he had his machine all White Bros. out ,and it ran like a raped ape.White Bros. was a huge innovator at the time and offered phase kit's 1,2 and 3 I believe. Each giving different upgrade's and performance mod's.He put a White Bros .kit in my '85 and it ran great. Can't really remember the performance be sluggish ,but that was back in the 80's.As far as reputation,if I could I would love the fact to build an old school racer for myself using the White Bros. product's again, but Wiesco also has good product's.

The one on the left has a longer skirt (I prefer a mini skirt myself...)

Anyhow, is it just the photo or is the lower portion of that left piston skirt turned down a few thousandths smaller than the actual OD of the piston??

If so, I'd call the extra skirt useless.....

If so, I'd call the extra skirt useless.....No, it is not turned down smaller. If you could spot that from my sh*tty photo I'd think you were a terminator sent from the future to destroy me!
Also, pistons with a longer skirt tend to last longer and run a little quieter due to less rocking in the bore. It also seems to be unanimous in the "trike trailor" that the Arias is lighter than the wiseco. Of course we don't have a small enough scale here to actually weigh them because unlike our neighbors, we don't sell "stuff".
