It most likely will not stop the noise... The older 200's have loud cam chains when they start to wear, just like the XR's.

On the left of your motor is a rubber plug behind the cylinder. Run it, let it idle and crack it loose, I think it's a 14 or 17mm. Do Not touch the top bolt which is a 10mm. Crack it, retighten it and your done. Still noisy right....??

gotcha, i can handle that, lol. if not i shouldnt be riding, lol. ive got the powroll heavyduty chain in it. it was rebuilt a while back with their storker crank, big bore kit and giant cam. i think maybe its just that cam. probably shouldnt give it another valve adjustment at the same time. thanks for the help.

take the mag/cover off look at the tensioner arm- if theres room to move it up it can be adjusted ,if not you need a new tensioner-
i rebuilt mine- everything new cam/chain tensioners ect...
it felt too loos with out the tensioner pushed all the way against the case-
so i set it max- no problems--- no adjustment either-
the screw in the middle of the big adjuster nut will chainge the tension-2
it keeps the rod inside from tight or loose- you need to look at it to understand
----but like i said mine is all the way adjusted new- no problems
