alright guys...went out and got myself an 86 kx250 stator and flywheel, to go with the kx cdi, and coil i already had. went to go wire it up today, and i am kinda confused...wondering if anyone can help me out here....

here is the connection from the stator, all three wires on the 3way plug match up color wise. the single wire is black and white striped with a male connector on it.

like i said the 3 way plug colors match...

the 1 wire coming out of the cdi is black with red stripe, and has 2 female connection on it...

the other wire coming out of the cdi, a solid black wire, has a female prong type connector on it, i figure this is the coil wire. and goes on the male prong sticking off the coil.

i still need to get my kx kill switch, so i havent figured in them wires yet...i know theres a black/white wire coming off of it, and a ground wire with an eyelet type connector.

my question is this...do i connect the black/white striped wire coming from the stator to the black/red wire coming from the cdi box? at least in one of the 2 connectors on the wire, and if so does it matter which one i plug it in to? and where will the black/white striped wire coming from the kill switch connect?

trying not to confuse yahs, hope the pics help out. thanks for any input in advance.

Can't help you on the wiring diagram.

I think the wire off the stator works with the red/black and the wire from the killswitch will go to the other red/black.

Time will tell when it comes time to test it out. Different year ignitions?

I've got the oem schematics on your question. It will clear it right up. Just pick up the kill switches on ebay for the kx series bikes. All mid 80's through early 90's are the same and very cheap on ebay. Thats what i run. I'll get the schematics up tomorrow night for you. Going to bed soon and will be busy till tomorrow evening. All you're missing is one male plug for the kill. Other side goes to coil post for grounding. You'll be just fine.

the stator and flywheel are off an 86kx, the cdi i s the one i bought off you james. was gonna get that stator rewired, but got this one for cheap, so i couldnt turn it down. so whatever year the cdi box is i got off you when i bought the kx ignition off you. well i am sure i can figure it out, i know that, the part that was confusing to me is the black/red wire with the 2 connectors...and the way you hook up the single wire from the stator, and the kill switch. i will wait to see what you got drawn up there tecat-z. pvl, lol. geeeeeeeez no need to go waste that kind of money, especially when i have all the components of the kx ignition.

Here ya go buddy. This should clear it up.:wondering This is from original Kawasaki shop text. My kx ignition works very well. I'm sure PVL is also a great alternative if someone didn't already have all, or most of the kx components.

yeah the pvl is great at what it does dont have to mess around with other stuff and the rpms are higher then the kx components.im sure scoot will figure that out soon,no waste of money here.

awesome tecat-z, thanks man. that definately simplified it. of course it wasnt a waste of cash for you dig, you had no ignition on your bike when you got it. me however, i already have 1 t3 ignition, and 2 kx ignitions, so yeah, that would be a waste of money for me to go out and buy pvl. yeah it works ok and was simple enough to put on, might be lighter then the kx, and rev faster then the kx, but thats about it, nothing special about them.

well there yah go, kudos to digity for his pvl. still nothing special about them if yah ask me, but seeing is how your suffering from randomstike syndrome, we will let yah go with it. and your right, would of cost yah just as much for a stock igntion set-up as it did for yah to get the pvl, so your right, no money lost.
