1) I got this thumb throttle off ebay, it is the exact one for an 84 R, when I 1st got it I thought it was sun faded but then it dawned on me that the whole throttle assembly is that even gray color through out the whole thing and it's not uneven either and it certainly would not fade on bottom so ....... DO THESE COME THIS COLOR STOCK ? Thought they were black ?
2) The thumb part is a bit too far back for my liking, can I take it out and move it one notch forward on the splines, if it is on splines that is and if not on splines, can I still move it forward a bit ?
BTW.....those progrips are awsome and very soft, so they will wear out faster then normal but man are they comfy. A lot of grips that are made for ATV's come too short by about a 1/2 ", these are full length, just like the stockers and how they should be.

it could have been blasted that gray color.
The thumb lever assembly is one piece...i dont think there are any splines...

no splines ... there's a flat "fixed" area for the arm under the top cap .... if you don't want it .... i do :naughty:

Yea that thumb position does look a little far back, might just be the picture but mine seems a little farther forward. I had this same problem on my old 200x. I ended up just heating it a bit and tweaking it, but I'm not sure you'd want to do that to that nice throttle.

Give it a good push and see if by chance it changes positions at all. Thats what my 200 does.

if you open it up you can probably figure out a way to move it forward (maybe tweak the lock washer)
looks just like my throttle, colorwise. I stripped it with paint stripper.
I agree about the grips, I have a couple pair - they are nice grips.

It just dawned on me that I don't have it hooked up to the carb yet guys and that's more then likely why it's back a bit, once hooked up to slide, that should pull it forward a bit, correct ?
Also, the cable on the twist throttle is really wimp, about 1/2 the size in diameter towards the stocker !

That's a strange color for sure, maybe later I'll do the same but since it's in perfect shape, for now I'll let it that way.

I think in stock form they were painted or coated black - looks like that has been bead blasted or stripped. It is aluminum right?
