Hi everyone, I'm new here and thought I would introduce myself. I'm from Quebec Canada and have been riding street motorcycles all my life. I own a 1984 Honda Magna and a VTR 1000 Firestorm. I'm new to the off road deal, this is my first ATC. I opted to buy a 1984 ( just love that year ) Honda 200M, in excellent condition. I made the decision after reading many of your posts and I quickly overcame my concerns with safety in the first 5 minutes I rode it... as many of you have said, it's not the machine but the operator that is a safety risk.

I'll be using my new machine mainly for riding around on the farm and hunting. I'm also an avid Ice Fisherman and once the lakes freeze over I will be looking forward to taking her out. Does anyone have any experience driving these on lakes for ice fishing ? how do they handle in the snow etc...

I am an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, enjoy hunting and fishing and getting together with friends, so hopefully I'll make a few more here along the way.

Thanks for keeping a great site like this going.

Kevin.

You will love it on the ice! Throw some studs in and maybe try a bigger front sprocket, top speed on the ice always feels slow since its such a smooth ride.

You will love that thing in the snow / ice. they are great. the 200M is a really nice machine for what you will be using it for. Better get a hitch on there if you don't already have one to pull your ice shanty out on the lake!
