Can anyone ID this gas tank?

I got this in my last load of goodies. I think it may be for an older 250R, or a 200X. Im sure it must eb aftermarket. Only thing on the tank in tiny letters on the bottom barely legible it says "Tacagi" .

Looks to me like its a 83 84250R aftermarket tank.

I am pretty sure 84250r is correct. I have only seen a couple originals many years ago, so I can't say for sure though.

i had a clarke plastic tank for an 85 200x that looks firmilar but it was awhile ago. so i guess 85 200x am i right lol ????????

Mike, If you look at the top picture you can see the mounting brackets on the bottom of the tank. 200x's just slide on up front and bolt on to the back.
Looking at the tank and the way it mounts tells me with out a doubt it's not from any Honda 4 stroke 3 wheeler. I just can't remember for sure how the 83-84 250r tanks mounted.

It's possible it could be a Dirt bike tank.

well excuse me mister all mighty!! just kidding i look at the tank quick last night and thought it might be a 200x but the more i look you are right about the mounting. so know i guess a tecate tank lol are we ever gonna find out? or is this a real mystery? hmmmmm???

Hey guys, thanks for all the input. I dont know what it is either! Thats why I was asking, so Id know how to sell it. The guy I got it from had an 83 250R, and some 4 stroke Hondas in the past. About the only dirt bikes were old Honda's from the 70's and my old RT180, which I now am again in posession of. I guess the myustery will not be solved umtil I sell it on Ebay, and the buyer says it fits!

to me, it looks like the clark 250r tank. it is the same color and shape as the one in the jl catalogue

Mike, I wasn't trying to be mean by no means. I just stated my observations ( Tim Sr knows I am a Die Hard Honda Man ).
I am going to check my microfiche and see if the 250r's look simular. It's the least I can do for Tim Sr. He sent me the reader to view the fiches on. ;) ;) To which I say a big Thank You!! We like it better than the one I had got on Ebay ( it's now repaired and working also ).
