Top End Kit For 200M?

Well I Wanna Fix My Trike Up. It Needs New Rings And Pistons, So I Called My Local ATV Fixer Upper. I Told Him My Problem And Just Asked To See How Much It Would Be To Rebuild My 84 ATC 200M....Well He Said $2000 And I About Sh!t My Pants. I So I Was Talking With My Uncle Witch Is A Mechanic/Welding And He Said Well Thats Way To Much And Say You Can Buy Top End Kits And Bike Is Well Like New Sorta Well Ya Know. And I Was Wondering Where Can I Get A Top End Kit And Just Because I Am Wondering How Much Would It Cost To Rebuild MY 84 ATC 200M I Was Thinking $500?

the more expensive one has the cam chain/tensioners/etc...

or just get a bore/hone/piston kit and youll be set...might as well check all of the top end too...cam, journals, rockers, valves...

whats the condition of the trike? Does it smoke? Low compression?

Compression Good, Um Plastic Busted Up, Also Needs Some Things But Good,Does Not Smoke.

i did a total rebuild for around 500.00 thats valves, piston, rings, rod, crank bearings, cam chain sprockets, cam chain tentioners, full gasket kit, and a couple other things. most of the stuff came from dennis kirk or evil bay.

I think I payed 50 to bore it and 30 to do the valve job on my 200x ( supplied the parts and all parts were new aftermarket bought off ebay for about 150 total) and I had about 230 or so in the engine when it was said and done. I went ahead and did some port work and the head needed to be plained to and all in all it runs very well for being otherwise stock.
