well, sorry to say that i have no before pics.
i just got finished painting the frame.
motor is out getting work :/
painting the tank and plastics, all with some airbrush artwork, and factory decals painted into the artwork (probably going to be flames, but not gay tribal licks, REAL looking fire)

the frame is saftey red, with the swingarm, handlebars, and headlight basket and case black, while the beauty ring around the headlight is same red as frame.
also painted the wheel hubs saftey red on polished aluminum wheels.
will post pics after i take them :)

Painting the plastics and tank this weekend, will post pics. plastics will be black with red fire :)
O and the red is so red it is almost orange. it looks wicked.

also, i work fast......i had the entire thing completely broken down, prepped, painted, polished and back together (minus motor and plastics) in a day and a half. and that includes a complete motor teardown, re-assembly, and a trip to the local shop (more damage then previously thought Dammit .)

ill also post pics of our last airbrush job. we did a lawnmower in base black with blue to green tint in the clear, all flamed out with a fire chick on the grille and skulls pushing through the flames randomly throughout the job. and yes, the lawnmower does about 20 MPH :)

the pics dont do it justice...the wheels are mirrors,
the paint, where it looks green or blue, well, it IS green or blue.
its house of kolor Kameleon tint, and in the dark, its black, except for the flames.

Nice job nightbiker !!

I'm not a flame guy either but the way you made them not distinctive, blurred and feathered out I guess you would say, that I like !!

Take tons of paragrahs to explain how you did that ?

Just out of curiocity, I'd like to know.

The flame colors are very cool too.

Who makes that grab bar ?

The only thing I don't really care for is the diamond plate scoops, I think it would look far better with stockers painted to match the tank ?

You keeping the fork boots blue ? If the frame was black the color on the Honda logo might look really nice, maybe even with the red frame? Guess you can't paint rubber fork boots though, can you ?

lol, me and my uncle did the paint work.
i did all the prep, and he did most of the airbrush, (i dont have time to learn)
as for HOW it was done, i cant say because those are "his style" and he wants them to be exclusive to him.

its not a complicated process. just get stuff on airbrushing technique, and practice. he hasn't been doing it that long (maybe a year on and off)

the hardest part was the badges. i took screenshots of the decals off ebay, photoshopped them, brightened them up and printed them. then the prints were put into a photo-projector, blown up, traced, and cut out to make stencils, and then painted into the job. :)

thank you for the comments :) alot of thought has been put into this machine :)

the plate scoops are better then what was on there, trust me lol. had to get pics of factory ones, and best-guess a size template to cut these ones out.

the grab bar came with the bike, and theres no name on it, although i believe it is a DG because it has a couple other DG products on it, and it looks like a DG style bar :)

yeah, the blue boots are brand new (previous owner rebuilt shocks) and i dont feel like changing them.
looking at the bike, they dont stand out like and scream I DONT MATCH, at least not to me or the other people that have looked at it. when i get the itch to, i will get some black ones. :)

tell your uncle hes pretty darn good! I like ol flames, the scoops err....well...not into them as much, how much trail riding you plan on doing?

hmmmm all these custom paited trikes about and around, maybe my next project should have my special touch applied to it finnaly!

trail riding depends.
to get an ORV sticker to ride on trails, do you need a title signed over to you? i have the title, but it wasnt signed over in front of a notary....... oops.......

as for the paint, i am concerned with the flexibiltiy of the clear. the primer was for plastic, and it was sprayed over an adhesion promoter, so i am good there as long as the plastic isnt siliconized (john deere is notorious...paint will NOT stick)

Looks good man. I would hate to ruin that paint job! Hope it holds up well for ya! Agreed with a couple guys, not crazy about the diamond plate. And the ghetto bar risers don't look safe. The paint is Nasty! Keep us posted

lol you noticed the risers :)
it came that way, and i dont have short enough bolts to get rid of them yet :/
but truthfully, it makes it a more comfy, laid back ride. i kinda like it :)

Man that is a NICE paintjob. The Honda and 250R labels look a little blurry like the stencil wasn't properly held down. Those flames ARE SO SICK. I would be afraid to ride that thing with such a nice paintjob. That is so very nice.

Nightbiker07

yeah, the stencils were a pain in the effin arse. we did best we could, and being on a curved surface....well, it wasnt easy. they came out pretty good for how it was done.

just didnt feel like busting out the sticky paper and cutting it out on the tank.....woulda taken hours.

thank you for the job compliments though :) it took a bit of time prepping them so the fine scratches wouldnt show through the basecoat.

very nice.

Those fenders ROCK! I would be worried about the durability too. I would think when the plastic flexes that paint would start coming off?

keep us posted how it holds up.

i will definitely let you guys know how well it holds up :)

if it holds up, i will tell you what products were used in the prep/paint process, but i wont yet, in case all a sudden the paint just blows off :/

well, as requested, i posted the exact method i used to prep/paint the plastics.
so far, it has held up amazingly well. only peely spot is where the fenders started cracking, but a fender brace ans super glue under the paint stopped the peel in its tracks.

i cant believe how this thing looked compared to how it looks now.......sooo dirty, chipped, greasy.....UGH

no airbrush specs, just what it takes to prep/paint plastics for a dazzling, so far durable, finish.
