have the chance to buy this 200x dude is asking $450 for it. i think i can get it for 300-350. says top end needs rebuilt, fenders and brakes. doesn't run right now. will definitely be a good project this winter or something to do at work. what do you all think. worth it?

I'd go for it.
Other than the rear fenders and seat, it looks to be in pretty decent shape.
It would be a fun project.

yep, id do it for $450, go get it. it also has a lot of parts most 200x's dont have such as the sprocket cover, tool box, parking brake assembly and a hitch. go buy it, and get a engine rebuild kit.

does an 83 200 big red have shaft or chain drive? tried looking at honda brochure but couldn't tell. alright, looking at the ad for the red again and description says honda three wheeler big red 250. heading for the ad reads honda 200 big red. can anyone tell what it is by looking at the picks posted. i don't know why it doesn't show the whole things.

I went to the original pics on the other site and it looks a little small to be the 250. I think its the 200 with a clarke tank like that 185S over by your place. just a guess though.

I've found that shelling out 1500$ or more from the get go is cheaper in the long run. 500$ ATC's are nice but in the end, they all end up costing over 2000$ to get them looking and running decent. I'm done buying "fixeruppers" they just get too expensive once you get them home and find - missing this, broken that and seized or broken bolts when you try and take them out.
Don't get me wrong, if you don't mind ripped seats, broken plastics and unreliable underpowered motors then by all means go ahead and pick up a cheap trike. At least your trying to rescue it.
But, if you want to save money, buy a machine that someone else powder coated, rebuilt, bought an exhaust for, a durablue axle etc etc and there loss is your gain.
Doing it yourself does give a person a sence of pride and accomplishments but it will cost you......

Honestly, I feel bad for ya and allot of guys here... If you lived closer I'd put that kicker shaft right back in for ya no sweat.
In the past 2 months I've rebuilt a performance top end for my buddies 85 200X, new swinger bearings and axle and rebuilt my friends 2000 KX125 top to bottom. And all for the low low price of a case of Bud pounders....:beer :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer
