atv insurance is a must. It just saved me a $4500 in medical bills when I snagged a trampoline...... Anyways we go threw some hick insurance agency here, they set us up threw progressive. Like 350 a yr for a newer quad, with theft, fire, collision, 10k medical coverage for 4 people you tell them who ride it. It does not look good for older bikes.. I don't even know if you can insure a trike, to old and deemed dangerous.. You might be able to have it appraised and insured for that value if stolen or wrecked. Geico should have online quotes, or the lizard is lying. Maybe even call em. GL

 Your kidding me?????? I had a brand new Honda in 04, bought theft insurance and medical for it, it didnt cost me over $80 Id like to say. That was with HEFTY medical coverage, I think that would cover anyone that rode it.
I had a long discussion with my State Farm agent a week ago about trike coverage.
They will insure the old trikes, theres just a LOT of issues that follow. I was interested in theft insurance, thats pretty much it. I was told that the insurance would be about $8 a year for $3000 worth of coverage.
Heres the crappy part:
problem:
Insurance companies only want to pay the bluebook value if stolen, regaurdless of how much the bike is actually worth.
solution:
you can argue more money out of them, you have to produce receipts, and similar sales of similar conditioned bikes, basically you must convince them what it was worth.
Bigger problem:
If the bike does get stolen, they do a title search and prefer (for some stupid reason) to issue the check to the title holder, becuase they hold the interest in the bike. Wouldnt it be cool for that guy that sold his 250r 15 years ago, then got a check in the mail for $600
Those are the only two problems, which I think I could work out. I am still thinkin of getting a few policies on the more expensive bikes, less then $20 a year for 2 bikes is NOTHING!!!!
Even if you only get bluebook value (assuming you dont fight for you bikes value) $600 compensation is better then nothing.
In conclusion, you can get theft insurance and have it pay off to the actual value if the bike does get stolen, BUT it will NOT be an easy task.
Good luck.
EDIT--------------------------One other MAJOR PROBLEM, if it does get stolen while you have coverage for it, and the do a title check and find its been reported stolen before, you in deep trouble!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like there is better insurance out there. Should throw up some tips. ATV theft is no joke, there are thousands stolen every year. If paying money gets the worry of it being stolen, go fer it! But still lock em up anyways.
I just called GEICO for my '83 250R. It was $216 for the year, and that's just for the New York State minimums (50/100K death; 25/50K injury; 10K property). If I wanted full coverage, including theft and collision, it would have cost me over $600/yr. Granted, I am certain this is because the trike will be stored close to NYC, but still, absurd. I just got the basic coverage.
All in all, it's not too horrible. But I can now ride parks like Lost Trails and wherever else requires insurance. Better to have than have not, I suppose.

You guys better check the blue book value of your trikes - and check with your agents asking them specifically - "if my trike gets stolen - how much will I be reimbursed" I just checked last week - and the value of a 1986 Honda ATC250ES Big Red was $315.
This really grinds my gears!

That's brutal. I figured it wasn't worth spending the $400+ a year I'd have to spend, and I guess I was right based on what you're saying. It sucks.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I tried getting some info out of the insurance agent, but she didn't want to come out and say that was the main reason. Just got the scripted response. But, in the end, $200 isn't bad. I'm just happy to soon be riding again. It's been waaaaay too long.

Damn. Wish I knew. Why don't you PM me your number. I've paid through December (installment #1 of 4), but before I make any payments, if the deal is better I can always go through you.
