Hey guys I am having a problem. I have a 1986 Honda 250sx. It needs restoration and I do not have the time nor $$ to do it. Now all the plastic is pretty good, all it relly needs is a seat, tires, tank cleaned, and motor put in. And I would paint the frame also. The motor stopped running but turns over and the piston moves. But I have a motor that came out of a running bike to go into it....The issue is I HATE parting trikes out but the rear end is going for about $250 and the motors are going for around $200 (On Ebay). So I need opinions. I want to get $400 for the trike with the spare motor. So the question I have for you guys is ..To part or not to part??

Don't part an SX.... You might be stuck with pegs, swinger, airbox, exhaust, cables, battery box, wiring harness, frame, bars, triple trees etc etc.
The differential will sell, headlight, keyswitch - plastic is too much to ship!
The SX motors sometimes get 49.99$ or do not sell at all, they are not nearly as popular as the 200X, 350X or the 250R. Watch auctions, do your research, I just don't see the SX's makin much money.....

Well I hate to part out a trike anyhow. But I would disagree with you on the motor. Every sx motor (running) I have seen on ebay go for at least $200. And there is a rear end on there now going for $220. But anyhow I really do not want to part it.
I sold a lower end for 150 and it wasnt even complete!
