OK, here's a some stuff that was wrong with my R when I got it, followed by my fix of the problem. :naughty:

Cracked and mutilated frame - Throw more weld on top of the cracked welds

Sagging left foot peg - It was already busted off and welded on, I bent it back with a sledge and welded it again

Swingarm bolt made from all-thread - I tried to find a real bolt for the thing, but no luck, ones on ebay were going for over $90 and I couldn't afford that. So, i got a peice of 5/8" round stock, hooked it up to a drill to spin it like a lathe, then used a grinder to mill it down to the metric size. I put that in along with some plastic bushing from xsystem, has worked great.

Rear brakes were dead and cobbled together - I retrofitted a working 400ex master cylinder to the frame, then cleaned the caliper and cobbled it together even more to get working brakes.

No tank mount - Bought one on ebay

No chain slides - What's wrong with metal to metal contact?

No grab bar - Made one from plumbing, which has survived rolling backwards twice.

A friend of mine had bought a quad that was pretty messed up. It was originally a 250SX and then somebody welded a Suzuki Quadsport 230 front end to it. The whole thing had been spray bombed about 5 different colors. It had 25 inch tall woolly boogers on it and a 185s seat and plastics. One day we were out riding and he took it over a jump and a tie rod end popped off and he broke his collarbone.

Thanks! :w00t:

It's kind of a shame the frame is in such bad shape, the rest of the bike is in pretty good shape now. :wondering If I ever get a deal on a new frame I'm going to get it.

My previous rear fenders were held down with hose clamps. My fathers 84R came with a bungie cord that goes around the seat and down to the frame to hold the seat down. Not to mention the duct tape front section of the seat cover.

Jeez, as if the Tri-moto 125/175 wasn't odd looking enough, they had to go and do that to it!

I picked up a Tecate4 awhile back that had a old 2 cylinder 200cc Honda street bike motor welded in and TRX front A-arms.

I dont know if anybody here remembers this beast, but I posted it up a while back, it is since been a donor to many other bikes due to problems it had. Id sure like to build another one though, this thing was a blast!!!

Its an 83 185s with an 83/84R front end rednecked on. (If you look close, its held on by a piece of all thread and a nut on each end, and yes, this was my daily rider for several months :D )

I once made a post about a redneck brake lathe. My 110's rear brake did not work for about 18 years, so the drum was kind of rusty when I went to go use it again. I got the drum off, put it back on backwards, and put the 110 on a cement block. Started the motor, put it in gear, and then used a grinder bit on a drill to hone the inside of the drum out.

my z had a peice of like pillow stuffing as a seet, held on with a tinny bungie and some chrome tape. same chrome tape was used to hole the exhaust to the head because they thought it was "cracked" but all the springs were missing

This isn't mine, it's my friend's but I get to ride it when I'm at his place. It's a 185 motor in a 200x chassis with some 200 plastics and the front tire and wheel off my 84 R. Has a rebar grab bar and a few other random things welded on. It's a freakin blast to ride, surprisingly fast too! :w00t:
