adapting the frame is no problem but I thought i'd ask you guys before i start cutting.... do you think this will be to top heavy - i've lengthened the swinger 6" & the rakes going forward 1". the engine in the pic is from an SRX 6, its a basic XT lump with a kicker that i'm using as a template. comments please

That motor is tall. How are you gonna get that bad boy in there? Make a new engine lower cradle?

It'll work, anything can work with the right touch.

gonna have to run a spacer inbetween the swinger for the bolt .. My orignal plan for the 490z was to use a TT600 motor on nitrous.. welding that cradel on is the best route. Your totaly gonna have to re work that cross brace for the carbs to fit ..is that a single carb? mine is duel carb..excited to see this happen ..

well she's in :w00t: the SRX cradle is bolted in place & lines up perfectly with the Z frame. Engine goes in & out without to much stress... next job is to plumb bob it straight & start work on supporting the headstock. the twin carbs will just squeeze between the top rails. I'm leaving the back mounts until last just in case an xt lump turns up, this engine doesn't bolt through the swinger like the xt. i'll add more nextweek, now on the beer for two days, Rugby world cup final & F1 showdown, yehaaaa :beer

just hope that you dont have the issues with carb clearance like we do with the 500s.... I am having a bear of a time finding a way to "cleanly" make an intake, that doesnt look all homedepo!
