I'm just waiting:w00t: for some chamber seal and a clamp for the muffler. I also need some shrouds.

I'm debating on getting a chrome DG because I hear the stock pipe is better for trail riding around here. (opinions needed).

It seems like its taking forever to get this done. I wanna ride!:w00t:

I kinda like those big Yamaha stickers. I thought they'd look gaudy on the plastics but they look nice. Kind of a "reverse OEM" theme LOL.

I like the stickers too but the yellow dont exactly mtch up. I think it would look better with an all black seat. I really can't make up my mind. lol

I like the idea of the headlight and yellow guard too but until I can find one this plate will do. Its actually a darker yellow but its hard to tell in the pics. ;)

I think saying Yamaha 5 times on the trike is overdoing it, I see I'm the only one that thinks that way though? :wondering

I liked it plain, reguardless what stickers you would put on fenders, looks too busy.

Otherwise, awsome Z buddy ! :beer

Yup. I have to agree with the huffster on this one. If the seat were just black.. the big decals would look sweet. Just too busy with the graphics and the decals.

The #plate is going to stay until I can find a decent headlight and guard (hint hint!) I dont think I'll paint a boarder though as there are alot of fine grooves running throughout the plate and I think the zip ites would wear the paint off in no time.

Thanks for the kind words guys.. I can hardly wait to ride it!

Huffa
10-24-2007, 04:48 PM
Chris, I have those plastic fork tube # plate mounts you could have, if you think it might look better a tad out farther ?

I certainly can't really tell from the picture if it's pushing on cables, etc, only you know that.

They are red, so you would have to paint them.

Deepa, thanks for that info, that's my birthday, I'll be 53

It's a possibility for sure.

Hey Huffa...

My birthday is Oct. 31st. What better way to celebrate than going out on a days ride with those guys.

I got those supports left over from my busted up aussieplate. Not sure If I'll even use them as I dont want to go drillin holes in this thing.

chris200x

That is yellow wire loom.. just a cover. I have that braided stainless kit that flyingW is offering over on 3wheeler.org that I plan on using instead. I just havent gotten around to it yet.

here's the link to that braided stainless I got:

Your triple clamps, do they have holes in top and bottom for head light bracket or anything ?

The thought occurred to me that eventully you could make L brackets for # plate and simply zip tie through the mesh with yellow ties, would give a cleaner look and you could adjust the distance away from forks how ever far you want ?

I have some nice aluminum that would work well for the job.

Type in wire loom on ebay... its all over the place dude... that stainless stuff flyingW is selling is WAY better though... I'm gonna throw that stuff on this weekend.

Mr. huffa... the plate came with a mounting kit but I just tossed it on with the ties for the pics.

Well after kickin on it forever I decided to go ahead and dump some fuel down into the carb.

I'm going to try and tow it behind the truck to catch it in gear here in a bit.. it's a real PITA to try and get the fuel lines primed if the system is bone dry.

Or mabe since this is a pump I picked up off ebay a while back it may not even be working. I got the one I rebuilt oringinally but fuel was leaking from the bowl on that one.

Its very frustrating as I'm try my best to get this trail ready for the 4th.

Tri-ZNate
10-27-2007, 08:58 AM
chris, get a quart oil jug and fill it with gas. Put a nozzel on it so you can gravity feed fuel to the carb. Eliminate the pump altogether

My fuel pump is leaking from the bowl too...

havent the slightest clue how to fix it.

Probably gotta tear down the bowl and scope it out but then i have to drain the tank and its full...disconnect everything with the pump, leak gas everywhere...is it worth it? Im trying to decide. That little bowl is the only thing that leaks on the entire trike.

MikeYou dont have to drain the tank.Just disconnect your hoses and pinch them off with vise grips,or stick some bolts in the end of the lines. This will stop the tank from leaking while you fix the pump.
When my bowl leaked,I unscrewed the bowl, replaced the rubber o-ring from a hardware store and put teflon pipe tape on the threads of the bowl.took care of the problem. The whole fix should only cost 3 bucks and take 1 hour, including going to the hardware store:)

garden hose rubber washer and teflon tape.. I bet your farmer neighbor has a garden hose..

DeePa
10-28-2007, 05:39 PM
well you dont have to block off fuel lines to change that washer and teflon that bowl up, but dont go unscrewing the on/off switch screws. You will get gas all over the place.

I did that garden hose and teflon fix and it looks good for now.

Thanks,

Mike
