well i got a new rad cap today and took it out too croom and its still spilling out into the overflow tube...why is there so much pressure out?the light isnt coming on....and it works when it starting.... so do i need to put a restrictor in place of the thermostate....?to slow the flow down...the rad look great the seating area that is...anything else i could look too...

If its running to the overflow like that, it could be one of these two things.
1-your ipeller isnt functioning, allowing it to boil over eventually, but that doesnt agree with your temp light.
2-your head gasket is blown, or your head isnt tight enough to create a good seal.

The temp. sender on the bottom of the thermostat housing on, my Z, was faulty and the light didn't come on when the impeller stuffed up (light still came on at start up).
I don't have a thermostat inside the housing, it just free flows, so I don't think you need a restrictor.
So yeah, check the impeller and head gasket.
I put a temp. gauge on to replace the temp. sender thing.

they all flicker and come on when first started ... i took mine off so i wouldn't be worried about it and keep an eye on the coolant level

I had the same problem. Make sure the head isn't warped before you change the gasket also. The coolant system gets pressure built up in it and then spits it past the rad cap and into the overflow bottle and then out the tube. On one of my z's, it was a bad cylinder and on my 2nd z it was a bad head. I read that Cometic makes a very good head gasket that is better than the stocker.
