Hey guys,

Just a feeler here. If I could get you all Genuine Honda parts for less than Service Honda prices - would you buy from me? (Also riding gear really dirt cheap - and pretty much any and all aftermarket parts).

My friend - who is an authorized dealer - is looking for more sales - and we got talking about 3WW. Reply in this thread with your inputs please.

I am going to be building his website soon and am wondering about e-commerce. Was thinking - for a small online business just starting up- just have an order form online that you would fill out with your parts requests - then we get back to you for payment options and shipping details - rather than an all automated system. Not only will it be easier to set up - but the customer will get that "personal touch" being in direct contact with us.

Thoughts????????????????

I think its a good idea, the only problem, if you put this in a thread it will get lost and everyone will forget about it, we need a spot on the forum with links to stuf such as this almost like a 3WW store, and certain members under guidlines (like a ligit business, not some kid selling parts) can post links to products or services offerd, like say for instance my tank restoration, your service honda discount parts, ronnies billet parts etc etc....

I am with you 100% on this Alan - a source for legit parts and services - also Muddogs Restorations (sandpuppi101 aka Roger) should not be forgotten. I am just trying to get a feeler for if this is worth doing. I know alot of people buy from bike bandit - service honda - tucker rocky - parts unlimited - if I can give them a better deal will they buy from me???

Not that I need any Honda parts at the moment but I say go for it. You can always put the link to the website in your signature.

Syko has a good idea as well. wouldn't that fall into the new products and development forum? maybe just tweak the title to include new businesses like this.

yea but even then it wil get lost, there needs to be a STORE of some sort, if somebody wants to buy something or use a service, then contacting them through the store will also email the store provider of service wanted, so no pms but email alerts so nothing is forgot or never seen

No not really. Last time I was there I found it very difficult to find my way around. (ya know to navigate the site) so I've just been going to my local parts place for my oem needs.

I'd have no problem giving a member here on 3ww my business in the future tho.

It would pretty much be like this -you would go to my website - request what parts you need - (example 1985 ATC200X rear sprocket) the form is straight forward - no part numbers - tell me what you need and I search for it - then come back to you with a price (including S/H). Pretty much no confusing navigation system - just tell me what you want - I research it and get back to you. I think the simplicity alone will help people out. Here's what it would be like:

If I were you, I would pick out some common products that you know people buy and put some exaplems of what you will sell them for on your link. That way people kind of dont waste their time waiting for you get get back to them on a price. I dont...lets say you can sell a chain for $10 and dennis kirk charges $20 then its worth it to me to wait the time for you to even get back to me on a price and everything. But thats just my opinion

i would do it if you offered a flat rate 1 price shipping like bikebandit.com iver orded so much stuff and it was only 6 bucks from cali!

so yeah id buy if you could do that.

Same here, sometimes shipping can be outrageous to AK, so I usually buy from whoever can get it here the cheapest.

Hey Tim. Sounds like a good idea. As you pointed out to me earlier, to me, as long as your stock list was easy to read and I could pay you easily (via Paypal, etc), I'd definitely go through you. I guess a well laid out web page with the parts and ease of payment. That'd be my suggestion. I guess my point is here is that I hate that these sites say they have the part when they really don't. What's the point of that? It just pisses off the customer.

Another thing would be to get the vehicle sketches/diagrams with part numbers on there cause some people might not know the part number/part they're looking for. Guess you could always forgo the Honda OEM part number and just label the part really well for look-up ease.

As long as I have a year, a make, a model and the part description - I'll find everything else you need - that is the simplicity of my idea - no need to look at micorfische for your parts - that's my job....
