how to change/adjust/fine tune the timing on my R?
why? if your ignition is running fine you dont need to do anything, and/or be of little help

well, if that knock doesnt go away with the new topend, it could be because the timing is too far advanced, predetonating the fuel.
hardly think that may be the problem, I havnt heard of anyone advancing the timing on an air cooled, even from older racers and magazine articals plus it would have to be advanced big time to cause that.
edit: my gfs blaster is advanced +4 deg and it dosnt have any problems and the power was BARELY noticable, and theres alot of engine work done to it (stroker, bore, carb, reeds, head, pipe)

mmkay. i wont play with it. but out of curiosity, would it be the electrical component behind the flywheel that needs adjusted to change timing?
