newby tri-z owner here

howdy all

i just picked up my firts yamaha trike, a 85 tri-z for 300 bucks, just wondering what i can do to make it a bit faster, it goes good now (all stock but a dg silencer) but you always need more right lol. whats the best bang for the buck on these older yamaha's? iv been a honda man my hole life, but i couldnt pass up a cool old trike for cheap. Anything i should look out for with this thing?

I've been a honda guy for the longest time as well and I just recently (within a year) picked up an 85 tri z and I must say although they are fast I am not impressed at all. Watch out for shotty footpegs,, and the kicker snapping the clutch cover in half,, weak impellors,, failing fuel pumps,, the list goes on.:rolleyes:

i dont have any pics of it right now, but ill get some this weekend, its in pretty good shape but its minus the seat, i got it at the thompson CT swap meet but im from douglas MA.

its at thompson speed way in thompson CT its the first weekend in nov. every year. its just a everything swap meet, cars trucks,quads,bikes,trikes,chainsaws ect.ect.....

theres also a swap meet like that at great woods,norton ma. every mothers day weekend. all kinds of crap! but alot of the cheap items are really in need of work.

I have a nice unripped black seat I will sell you for 80 shipped.It has the logo on the back,no seams in it just like stock.The logo is not perfect on it though.You can set it on and go.Pm me if you want it.

hey evand, was it the white one with the handguards, or the yellow one with the custom foam and duct tape seat? He was trying to get me to pay 700 for that bike. you got a deal for 300 bucks! The other one was only 500 I should have bought it but i didnt really want a Z.

lol it was the one i with wonderfull foam seat lol, yeah i dont think i did bad for 300, it looks a hell of aot better all cleaned up lol
