ok....now im confused

ok. so i TRIED to put my 300 kit on my bottom end today.....
the cylinder will NOT fall all the way down, sealing with the bottom end....it stops about a millimeter before it touches the gasket. seems to be binding on the bolts maybe?

compared the case to another one i have laying around, and they are the same, so the case has not been milled.
leading to another problem......

at TDC the piston is maybe 3 or 4 mm BELOW the top of the cylinder (edges of piston, not domed center........
the crank, when compared to the one in the other bottom end i have, is IDENTICAL. so they are both 100% stock. the rods appear to be identical, and i am pretty sure it is stock as well.

(have not checked it yet, but the piston appears to rest as far below the cylinder edge as that retarded spacer plate is thick, but i need to check it.)


i am beside myself. every time i turn around, something is not right.........and its not a NORMAL problem.......

ANY ideas?

had the same problem on my 86 250r just tightin the nuts down from the cases to the cylinder it will pull it down good luck

yeah....i tried tightening them.........wont move a bit.

the main concern here is the position of the piston in the cylinder......i would think that it would have zero compression staying that far away from the head......

hmmm i dont kno what it could be unless i was there looking at it. seems like someone when in *Edited**Edited* engine before u and booogered it up a bit

thats one of those NEW sleeved 300 kits isnt it? with the NEW style piston?? this could be a machining misshap with whomever did the work, also check to see if the sleeve ports match up well with the cyl ports

im taking the whole damn thing to PR racing engines tomorrow to have them assemble the sonofabitch. im tired of making attempt after attempt......i can feel the *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**E dited* thing laughing at me.............i am not technically impaired......this is just really getting to me.

oh yeah.......im prepared.

but the real pisser is, i paid a shop to do my bottom end cause i wanted it done right.........they jacked up my kickstarter, it was loose as a whores vajayjay. and they didnt replace the clutch cover seal (sent me home without one) the damn thing leaked like a SIV.....and it cost me 300 bux for something i had to tear right back apart.........
