It's always fun to "show as you go" but also fun to have the whole thing completed and surprize everyone.
I want to show mine when it's done, because it is quite different then most project R's (at least I think so) but it's taking triple the time I projected the project to take and I'm getting itchie to show now.
In fact I showed a hint the other morning, then deleted it:lol: It was really early so I doubt anyone saw it.
How many have the patience to wait 3,4,5 months ?
I guess though, if you show as you go, other comments might help with the look of machine with things you did not think of or you may change something that looks better then you imagined but I'm pretty sure I got everything covered, I think ?

You talking about the bumble bee? I doubt half these people were here when you started it! lol, I just remeber you had a bunch of good ideas with that one then it just kind of died out, I was looking forward to seeing it done.

No, I'm talking about my 84 R, it's way advanced in ideas over the bumble bee.

the other day (in a barn I have it), really feel bad that I stopped 3/4 way through the project, some day I'll start up on it again though, someday:rolleyes: :(
Man, that was 2 and 1/2 years ago ! I owe that trike big time, it's because of that one that I got back into them.

Derrick Adams and Jason Hall have done the best out of anyone on this forum I think. Derrick in particular with his YZF-Tri-Z, I never seen a single picture or heard much more then a rumors about it from start till finish.

I did the show as I go on the Tri-Z, but if I would have waited, you all still wouldnt have pictures. The bike is still getting upgrades done to it.
My new project (HYDE) none of you will see till its complete :naughty:
Im not going to take a year on this one, it should be complete within 2 months of starting it after Christmass. I have most of the essential parts, then its just down to waiting on the powder coater, and UPS guy. :)

I'm not sure on the exact time frame but it had to have been atleast 6 months I'd imagine. Probably more.

I have the patience - not the skill.
If I could build a trike without the prowess of 3WW members I would not be on here so much..

Sharing the build-up and getting feedback is fun... but I can see how a sudden suprise would be fun too... I started to show my build-up in the early stages... but now have decided to wait til completion... if I even show it at all... My machines is being built to ride and probably wont end up looking like much

Personally, I have the patience and I love surprises! All I can say about my trikes is that nobody is going to see the finished products till TF08. I can do that sort of thing cause I'm a ninja.

Yea, I'm going to wait, my/your time will come ! :beer
Just think of car restorers that take years and years to find parts and complete them, so a few months is nothing really.

That is true. :D
Patience is my enemy.
I've only been working on it for about a month now and I can barely stand to wait any longer. Seems like the closer it is to being done, the more impatient I get, and I'm fairly close now.

Well I don't work on mine every day, some days I don't feel like it and when I do work on it and start getting tired, I start thinking of things to speed up the restoration process, in other words skipping some cool ideas or details I had, so right then I quit and call it a night, then next time I work on it I'm all fresh again and back into major details, that's what takes time man, DETAILS, but once done, your glad you took the extra time to do them.
One day at a time, one part at a time, that's the way it should go, ya know?

I tried but the 265 PV gave it all away, i couldnt hold it in!
But id rather people know and have my trike looks its best, the white frame was with the help of 3ww. No more pics as of the motor shots, I am documenting it all though for a full thread!

i like to show off my builds in stages as well. part here, part there, i also like the suprise factor too though. i have posted tons of pics of my 85 t3, from the timei started the build just a little over 2 years ago, till now, started with just a bare frame. i have done the same with the 86t3 as well, just havent worked on that as much as the 85. the 70 i only posted up the before pics , havent really taken any pics of the rebuild on that. but the thing is going to look beautiful when done. its coming along nicely.
