A lot of the time, the "good" riding places like this are not revealed publicly so that they dont get swarmed by people. Don't take it personal, just see if you can meet them up and go to it sometime other then finding out where it is on your own.

I agree, I've seen to many places go down because of people causing issues and bringing in friends who don't even know how to ride!!
That place looks wicked bro, def worth keeping it quiet so it lasts for a good amount of time. Ride on! :welcome:

Not to sound like too much of a jerk here but...
There is no hill a quad could make that I couldn't or wouldn't do on my trike
Since this is 3WW here's a trike in a N.H. pit :w00t:

the pictures don't do the hills any justice i would love to see a 3 wheeler go over the top but until then keep dreaming :w00t: i think your forks will get destroyed hitting either the base or the top

350x would never be able to chug up those loose sandy hills. 250r would make it at least in power.
I guess I can't get a feel for those verts - some pics dont look bad and some look crazy - but the 4 wheeler is popping off it alright.
Hey trickle - you can use my R to try it. I trust yah - if you got the balls to do it. Gotta watch for those 4 wheeler ruts though.

the top of some of of those hills look crazy, i wouldn't try that. you sure that's not where i think it is? riding season is almost over, but if my buddy comes down from vt with his quad this weekend, i might send you a pm to meet you out at that place if possible. i'm not a kid with a bunch of idiot friends, hell i'm not even a kid, so your secret will be safe with me :)

11-13-2007, 09:01 PM
Are you kidding me, hey brrcuda have you ever been to california and rode in the sand dunes? Well if you haven't then you should cause the sand over here is 20 times more softer then over in nh. We have a race hill over here called oldsmobile and its 3 times the size of that anthill. And if my 350x can fly up olds then that's nothing.

11-13-2007, 09:09 PM
only a 2 stroke 3 wheeler will have a chance at it. a 350x i don't think so

Oldsmobile is long but it's not steep at all. A freakin' 250sx can make it up Olds (barely though).
Take a 350x up Hundred Dollar Hill and I'll be impressed. :D

Just north of Flagstaff Arizona. It's somewhere between 600 and 1000 feet tall depending on who you ask. Steep as hell, poor traction and the altitude is 7000 feet. Good luck with it.
gaukel350x
11-14-2007, 02:30 PM
Well that's about a 8 hour drive from me, well probably during the summer when I come to trikefest that will be my frist stop, my lightass and some fatty tread tires will do it.
Dammit!
11-14-2007, 02:39 PM
You can't get anywhere without paddles in that place. The one time I went, the guy I was riding with that was on a 350x was having problems with some of the smaller hills. No way he'd have had a chance in hell of getting up that one. You could take china wall and put three of them on top of each other and you'd be somewhere around the same height. This hill is still steeper and looser though with the added problem of the elevation robbing power from the bike. The tallest hills at the ISDRA look like kiddy hills in comparison. And the pictures do it no justice. You have to be on it to appreciate how ridiculous it is.

badasskfx i was talking with Jason and he said we missed some good crashes right after we left to get dry clothes. he made a few more new hill climbs and a couple of guys from the other group thought they could do it but didn't make it, 2 quads rolled down the hill backwards no one got hurt. see you in Barre ,Ma

I would have a go at that hill on a 450 or a good strong sport quad. I dont feel too comfortable on a trike on any hills like that. I know when theres quad rutts your front tire gets sucked in and can throw you sideways which isnt fun! But I did watch a video of a 400ex climbing that cinders hill, I still dont think a 350x could quite make it but a 250r would have a lot better shot at it. Paddles would definatly make it alot easier but then again thats taking a ton of power away right there.
Dammit!
11-14-2007, 04:43 PM
I saw a 400ex trying to go up it on youtube but it looked like they were on the shorter section (to the left in the pic I posted). Here's a vid of a Banshee going up the peak. Watch it at least until the second climb. He slows the vid down and looks back so you can get an idea of the angle.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nain4d29vMw
Kasey went up it on his 500R. I made one attempt on my 250R. Probably made it a third of the way up before turning around. I hit the whoops on the bottom wrong, got a little crossed up and lost my momentum. I couldn't get my bike dialed in exactly right at that elevation. I had the top end ok but the bottom end was just mush so when I lost my momentum I was pretty much screwed. Coming down was a trip though. I came down in the worst spot possible. Almost took out about four shrubs on the way. When I finally got stopped I was like "so that's why everybody has been coming down on an angle..."
With more tuning I could make it. If it was closer to sea level it would be way easier. It's pretty hairy with a stock swingarm though. You feel like it's gonna loop out on you at any second.
Sorry for the hijack. I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

I been to flagstaff riding in cinders (boy that feels good to say when your from FL haha) and I THINK we say that hill, it was near fall/winter time so everything was covered in snow and we had no idea where we were.. Point is, the hill we say was HUGE!! I don't know if it was that one, I know there are trees at the base; just a couple trees, but my old man in his tecate made it up a pretty good size hill, hurt my neck to look up lol Sadly, it's in only his and my mind we had no ability to take pics, it was like 40 degrees out and we were in that place alone. Defiantly good times :)
Back to the topic, I don't think a 350x could do it easly
I could make it up those ant hills with a 225 with reverse.

you could edog.... up the road on the back side the made for the dump trucks....

11-14-2007, 09:52 PM
Ya all I'm saying it will make it up, it won't fly up it, it will just crawl up it and as long as it makes it, right
Lets make bets jk
I would hit that hill hard or would I,mmmmmmmm
Reggis ask Edog if he ................http://www.leetforlife.com/upload/uploads/id_hit_it1.jpg
badasskfx
11-14-2007, 09:58 PM
trust me when i say you do not want to crawl up it. ill try to describe it to you..... the approach is real smooth and fairly soft.....then when you hit the base of the wall its around an 80 degree angle and hard as hell.....from there your speed and balls carry you up to the top and your wheels are not touching anything..... you have to clear 8 to 10 feet of cliff.... we were going above the top some times 3 to 5 feet higher then the top.... if something goes wrong your machine will need at the least some exspensive cosmetic work... if the weather holds we will get some video. my wife just got a new camara and ill "borrow" it. LOL!
