I installed Boyesen reeds on my sons yt60 trizinger and now it is flooding real bad. There is also fuel seeping out where the intake mounts on top of the reeds. I ordered a new reed gasket and will be pulling the motor again to see what is going on.
It is fouling plugs, very wet. There is almost no low end power. I drilled the exhaust since it was plugged. I'm using stock jetting and a clamp on air filter. I had bought a DG exhaust but besides being loud, it didn't improve anything so I got rid of it.
When I installed the new reeds I did not use the stock metal reed stopper, since there was one included with the Boyesen set.
I checked compression and it is around 120psi. I have cleaned the carb several times and checked the float, needle, and float pin.
With a good plug the motor will idle fine. Why is it flooding so bad and what happened to the low end?

The reeds would not make the carb flood out. You would either have a float sticking or maybe something cracked in your carb. You didn't state wether or not the fuel was running out when the bike was running or off. Is your throttle sticking or the carb slide sticking? Have you checked that the needle is proberly seating in the low speed jet? I suspect you have a problem of some kind with your carb. Maybe take it apart again and go over it with a magnifying glass and look for cracks or gouges. If you find any problems please post what you find.

While running fuel leaks at the intake/reeds. Could just be because of me not changing the gasket. Nothing sticking from what I can tell. I guess I just go through the carb AGAIN.
But even before I replaced the reeds I had lost low end power. This problem started after I found that the exhaust was plugged. But like I said I tried a DG, then went back to stock after drilling it. So there are two problems. Flooding and low end power loss. I even adjusted the brake just to make sure that wasn't it. Could it be the clutch?
