I have a 79 XL250s with a bad head. The engine is a basket case. Does anybody know if a 200cc Honda motor will fit into the XL250 frame?

hey with alittle tlc it can i have a suzuki rs250 2 stroke and my motors a bad basket case and im putting in a 4 stroke 200cc engine in it. as long as it fits in the frame u can weld some brakets.

A couple of days ago I talked to a guy who has a new Honda clone motor. After Christmas ( if he still has it) I'm going to take the bike over and see how much work it'll be to make it fit. The only thing is, its only 150cc. But it should be big enough to trail ride with. I think it'll be a whole lot cheaper than rebuilding the 250 motor.

its prob a lifan engine they are good motors, and yes a 150 is fine for trail riding, its better then nothin, good luck.
