I got a 1985 250 Big Red and I have a few problems.

1st: It has no spark, would this be the cdi box?If not then what else could it be?

2nd: When kicking over it sounds like something is still turning in the engine when it shuts down, plus you have to wait for it to stop turning before you can try to kick start it again. (battery is dead I just need to buy a new one).

3rd: It jumps when putting it into gear,(idle is not set to high),so what can this problem be?

4th: I need some rear fenders, gas tank, where can I get some at cheap?

Thanks for any help you can give!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I would say that 1) when you have no spark, it could be alot of things. You have to go though a check list, coil, good grounds, no broken wires, good spark plug etc. Start with the easy and cheap ones first 2) it sounds like the one way clutch is bad (the one on the centrifical clutch). 3) Does the trike try and creep forward or is it hard to shift at idle? If so I would try to adjust your clutch. 4) I not sure about this one, E-bay? Hope this helps you out!

How can the idle NOT be set to high if you got AN ABSENCE of spark???

Well I have no manual. It was a friend of mines that I was trying to sell for him.It never sold so he gave it to me.So I'm going to get me 1.
I know the idle wasn't set to high, because it did the jerking when it ran.So I figured something might be wrong with it.

First for the firing problem, buy a new spark plug and check the wires.
