What causes the rear of my X to kick way up off of steep jumps?

If I were to venture a guess, I would personally think that your rear shock isn't operating 100% correctly. Your spring on the shock is for the compession of your shock and the oil inside your shock is for your rebound or the return of your shock to it's normal operating area. If there is very little shock oil or no oil in your shock then the only force acting on your shock is the spring tension. With out the oil the shock will just react from the spring tension and the movement will not be cushioned or slowed down by the oil. If you are a lighter weight person and there is little or no shock oil and the preload tension on the spring is at it's highest setting then this will be exaggerated even more. You may need to have your shock rebuilt but you could try setting your coil spring tension down to a lower setting but it may have the effect of your shock bottoming out when you land. If you have someone rebuild your shock you may want to think about having a heavier oil in your shock to help slow down the shocks reaction time to make it return to its' normal position. The only thing I'm not sure is since I never had one of the 200x or 350x shocks apart is if it is just oil filled. I hope I haven't given you bad infor as most oil filled shocks work like this but like I said, I have never had a 200x or 350x shock apart.

I'd say rebound Damping is too quick.

I don't know if it's adjustable on the 350X, may just be compression damping. I'd rebuild it if you can too. Huffa seemed to figure out that it isn't too expensive to do if you can find a place. I believe he got it done for about 100$ soup ta nuts....
