Well the kfx just woudlnt start one day, when i went out to drive it. So i took it over to the dealer and they took apart my motor. After looking at the piston for a while they said "this thing isnt stock is it?". I laughed. I knew it was going to be a long day.

But after a few hours of looking over the motor its blown. Instead of repair the whole thing and do all that crap, i bought a 2005 Suzuki Lt400z motor. Which fits my bike perfectly. It has a 440 big bore kit on the way, im not going to have the same power but i should be fine when i go to sell it. I payed $2000 for the motor, which is decent, it was used about 3 months of tiny amounts of driving. Its gonna work some good when i get it together.

So you didnt realize the motor was blown when you parked it? So what was wrong with it that you couldnt fix for $2000 plus a Big bore kit?? Are you lieing to us??

Fix that 520 and sell it. Or stick it back in the frame.

yeah but thats the thing, if i can sell that motor for $1000, thats not too bad considering i can get the bore kit for $500. Plus it breaks down all the time and never wants to start for me, even before i blew it.

So what was the extent of the damages to the 507? You just went out to ride one day and it was blowed up? I am also curious what it was that kept breaking on it?

well the piston and cylinder were 'wore out' from what they told me. so i replaced them, and then the head gasket blew up and instead of wait forever to get it fixed and pay way more then what it was worth to fix i just sold the motor.

so you buy new piston and a new cylinder (or work on existing one or whatever?)
and then the cheap gasket blows, and you trash it????? i dont get it

:wondering So am I understanding this correctly? 507cc -72cc = 435cc ??? $2000 for the new motor+ a $500 big-bore kit = $2500.... - $1000 for old motor = $1500 for a 72cc reduction??? Sounds to me like someone needs a 2-stroke...

it does doesnt it.
the motors in and everything, except i need a timing chain now so i dont think it was that good of a deal after all.

the motor works like crap anyways, it broke down every single time i went to ride it.

You bought a complete new motor or just the cylinder? Perhaps it was the timing chain all along?

no point in just a 440 big bore, need the cams, valves, and the engines breathing ability for it to do much.
