I just received my new replacement carb(ebay cheapie for $30 shipped) and it looks exactly like the original with two exceptions. The choke is not routed to the choke cable, but is just a lever. There is no petcock. Other than that, it seems to be identical. The studs for the intake manifold will fit on the new carb. I have not fired it up yet because i left my key at work and i'll be working out of the office till next monday, but the only problem i see is maybe the jetting may be off. I might need to use the stock jets from the old carb. Also the gas tank is in the way of the choke lever - is there a way to swap out the lever for the stock cable set-up? should be easy to do, but i tried to pop it off and it loosened, but wouldn't pop off. other than that, it's good to go! I also replaced the lines. I joined the two lines from the tank with a Y, then to a fuel filter(with a sediment bowl), then to an in-line fuel shutoff valve, then to the carb. I should have taken a picture of the two carbs side by side for all you guys looking for a replacement carb. They were very very similar. If you do decide to buy one from ebay, make sure all the controls are on the left side - they make a lot of carbs with the controls on the right side - you won't be able to use them. any ideas or suggestions or advise, please let me know!!
