is it stuck? if so soak it with PB blaster, hit it with a hammer, or rubber hammer, and keep trying. if worse comes to worse heat it up or cut it out. but im no expert on this.

those swingarm bolts are known to get really stuck. takes lots of muscle/mini sledge but you may damage the bolt threading, keep the nut on little loose and pound away. its hard to get any lube in there too. by the way; where is epsuh?

I agree with that, sometimes you get lucky, but i usually end up cutting the thing out and then put the swingarm in a press to get the remaining pieces. Its a sucky job, just be patient when cutting the bolt out and try not to cut the frame or the swingarm. After you get everything out i suggest getting some of the plastic bushings that x-system makes, ive had them in my bike for over a year now, they work mint.

alright thanks for the info
Do a couple of searches here on the site. This has been discussed fairly frequently. Those swingarm bolts are brutal to remove. People have done everything from using a punch, to hammering it, to cutting it off and punching it out. All I know is, it took me forever to get it out when I had to remove mine.

Hey Jeff, not to hijack the thread but how do the plastic bushings work? I'm curious, as I know swinger bolts for an 83-84 R are really hard to find and I'd like to preserve the one I've got (provided it's not already "welded" in there. Do you have a link?

Chances are you'll have to cut it out - Is it an 84 R??

hello
before you cut it up try drilling holes in the swing arm tunnel where the bolt goes thru then fill the holes with pb blast. when mine was rusted on it was the shaft inside the swing arm the one the bolt goes thru.then if it dont work at least you have some holes for zirc fitting to add grease. good luck
