When I placed my order at Service Honda most of our Honda switches were gonezo... So, I bid on a couple and LOST! But then I managed to grab both an 86 200X and 350X light switch and a few others....

They are ALL mostly discontinued and I just wanted to stock a couple. Lets face it, crummy and faded ones do the same job and I'm a rider and not a collector so I really don't even need them.

BUT, now that I have them and a couple have mailed in ...... They look OEM, feel OEM but neither one came in the box (as shown in auction) and do not come with mounting screws either? I'll bet that you don' get the screws, that doesn't surprise me. BUT, with all the new aftermarket parts ( like the caliper ) I'm wondering if I really got OEM NOS as described or a remake?

All of them say "TEC" on the back of the housing as does my older 87 200X switch does but I just wonder.... Maybe they just wanted the box?

Anyhow, if they are OEM and they look to be, the average price is 80$ and in 10 years I'm sure that will increase immensely!! Thats basically why I bought the ones I did.........

Did you guys see the ones on EBAY with the wires cut? The guy said that they were cut "for a tether switch" LOL, why can't he simply say that they were chopped off when selling ATC's buy a dealer wasn't allowed??

Speaking of which... Why on earth would you cut wires instead of just pulling on a plug???????? Now years later they are trying to make a buck - Why didn't they just unplug the chit??

I got a new one for my 87 Big Red on eBay. The wires were cut and the screws were missing. Always wondered why. Picked it up for like 30 bucks shipped. My old switch worked perfectly, just faded and ugly over time. I took both apart and swapped the switch covers and the housing from the new one into my old one that didn't have the cut wires. So I essentially still have my old switch, just with a facelift.

Because that is just way too logical of a decision : )

You wouldn't believe the parts we used to throw away back when these bikes were being raced, the parts were worthless, we used to toss cases, cylinders, toolbox's and tools, headlights because we couldn't give them away. New left cases used to be $100 out the door, $500 for a fully built PT motor, still have a few of those though. We used to have 3 or 4 backup motors back then and when one went down it was sent right back to PT. I've bought out all of my riding bussies over the last few years of what they had left and it wasn't much but there are still a couple left cases still in the original box's, a few pt cylinders, pipes, alot of internals. I still have one more guy to buy out but he kept so much stuff including his bikes I've had to save up for this one and should have it later this spring.
