I just had the rear shock rebuilt on my buddy's 200x. This is the one that lives at my house, so it may as well be my 200x. I took it to a local motorycycle racing shop that does a lot of custom work. The bill was $150!!! Seemed like a hell of a lot, especially for buzzing around the farm 5 or 6 times a year, but I have to say that it's like a completely new machine. I couldn't believe how much difference it made in the ride and the height. If you love your 200x and you're thinking about doing this, I highly recommend it.

Next we're going to do the front shocks, but we think we can probably handle those ourselves.

Ive been looking for rear shock rebuild but cant find one and dont like to pay shop prices. But how are they recharged? I havent seen a valve or anything on it to get it charged?

I have no idea how they recharge them. He explained it to me, what they did and what they replaced, but I don't remember if he said how they recharge it. What I thought was cool was that they asked me how much the rider weighs, so he could set the shock for the correct weight. I didn't know it was that specific!

sounds like good deal for $150

Yeah, I'm with Swig, that was a great deal. The rear shock ressi has an aluminum cap over it so people don't let the nitrogen out thinking it's an air shock.

For some reason I thought there was one under there but wasnt sure. Im gonna get it done to mine and see how it turns out. Been waiting for a thread like this for a while.

you could always try running a 01 raptor 660r rear shock...they will work but are a tad longer.

Rebuilding it shouldn't be that hard really. Finding someone to charge it could be. Specs are right around 300 psi of nitrogen. I think AirGas or a company that deals with torch and welder bottles ought to be able to charge it though.

My back shock is shot. Its pure spring and makes it ride pretty crazy at times.

I'm glad to hear you guys thought it was a good deal. For a 200x that we paid $600 for in the first place, it seemed pretty painful, but like I said, the ride is amazing.
