Grizzly(Or Rapt) starter clutch problems?

Anybody ever know or hear of this? My dad's left me his Grizzly to try and fix, it's got a horrendous knock coming from it when running and I heard about this problem....but I emailed a dude that sells a fix and he said if the starter clutch goes bad, the electric starter will not work? The electric start still works, seems to run fine power wise, has oil pressure, just has this terrible knock that sounds like it's going to come apart any second. Anybody have and ideas? It's got about 1,600 miles on it too....

bendix spring is probably siezed out,,,, pretty common on most new quads....id pull it apart and lube it up...see whats goin on :p

You talkin about on the starter itself? I already pulled starter, it seemed fine.
