Any aftermarket skid plates available for this model. I havent seen anything yet but i have seen Aluminum swinger skids from members different pictures on here. Anyone know of a manufacturer for a plate? Has anyone tried OMF to see if they still make them?
I do know that PRM is not offering new ones as they were first choice.
Thanks.

DG used to make a Baja skidplate for them but it looks like their site is down.

Odd that they make one for the 3-5 but not the 6/7.

I know the swingers are different but wonder how much modifacation it would take to make one fit ?
Does that one look anywhere close to yours, that it could be modified ?
If it was me, I'd contact them asking if it's a possibility if I sent my stock 6/7 plate (probably would need swinger too) to them if they could modify the 3-5 to fit and approx how much it would cost, maybe post and ask if others are interested ?
Maybe (BIG maybe) someone with a 6/7 lives close by that take their trike to them ?

You could probably modify a 250x/300ex skid plate also....the 250x swingarm is pretty close to an 86/87 200x swingarm..almost identical actually. I have a 250x swingarm in the garage..I could take some measurement of the mounting points. Not to mention that you can pick up a stock 250x skid plate pretty cheap if you wanted to experiment.
I took some measurements of my 250x swingarm see if this helps

Problem is, you already painted your swinger!!
Either the 350X plate or the 200X plate can probably be made to work, (thats my plan anyhow). I built a mega mount for the 350X and thats what I'll do with the 86 200X skidplate whenever I get to it.
That diagram is sweet!! Way to help bro!!

Thanks for the info guys..
First, i will contact OMF and see if they can do anything for me. I'll let you know how that goes as an option. i bet they still make them.
I would like to not hack up anything just yet, but i do have a 350x skidder around here. i will line it up and see if its close.
good luck with that tank bp.....

The 200X mounts (furthest back) are welded on the carrier tube itself.
The 350X has a chinsey bracket setup that snaps off easy. Both of those mounts are welded to the swinger side arms. The PRM skidplate destroyed the stock brackets so I made some out of .1875 x 1" steel.
