So, it will start, just doesnt have any power? By blackening the plug do you mean the plug keeps fouling out? Try a new plug and clean the carb, let us know what happens.

I am from New Orleans and...when I referred to down in the water I meant it rained hard yesterday and its sloppy in the lot next to my house so I was gonna do a little damage and splurge....I cranked it up to move it to the driveway....I was changin the oil in my truck and my dad's car..so I figured what the hell oil hasnt been changed in years on the ole Honda.....so I changed it....went to crank it back up and nothing...changed the plug.....and made sure the carb was primmed....its gettin fuel to the plug....but I cant tell if its gettin spark....didnt have a lot of time to fool with it...but it did make me spend 3 hours tryin to figure it out.....any ideas what it could be...

maybe water in the electrical connection when you changed the plug an wire?
take the plug wire off an look at the contact points do you see any moisture?
what i do with plug wires is use some of the delectric lube on the ends prevents moisture from entering,
also, not trying to sound funny but did you make sure the plug was gapped? it should be some where in the ball park of 4, to 7, thousands, its a simple mistake ive done also

So I went back out and attempted to start it before I left the house....no luck...I use dielectric grease like I drink water.....I gapped all the new plugs at 4 1/2.....before when I would crank it...she would sound like she wanted to start...but now it just sounds like I am just pulling the cord.....maybe a coil????? not sure...does anyone have one that I could borrow to see if that is the problem....if it isnt I would send it back....being an ex-mechanic I have always had spare parts to try...I just dont have a donor bike to take parts of.....if there are any other suggestions I would appreciate I really wanna drive it liek hell tomorrow for New Years......

This really sucks...I tried everything you all said and its a no goDammit .....the dog-gpne thing wont start....I even tried to see if the coil was getting power...it was....and if it was sending out power....it was....I dont get it...I dont have spark at the plug but if I put in an ohmmeter it reads voltage when I pull the cord......

What plug you running?? IF its not a resistor plug you wont build enough resistance and the coils will never spark.

Buy a new plug, my '78 ATC90 did this. we gapped it at like .020 and got it to run, but not well. I put a new plug in it, at the correct gap, and she ran like new.

Take the recoil off and spray the magneto and stuff down in there with WD-40, you may just have some moisture in the there. And check the kill switch. Unrelated, but I would use 10-40 oil in it.

I havent touched it since New Years eve and its sittin inside.....also I am getting power to the end of the coil wire....just not sure if it is the plug gap or the plug....the plug I am using is brand new....has mayb 10 running minutes on it......
