They really do make a sweet part, very durable. I have them on all my 250R's
Hey Joe--
Yeah, as far as I've seen, PRM has some decent after-market grab bars. However, if you want an original, just be patient on eBay. One will eventually turn up. I was looking for a stocker for my Tecate, and after a little over a month, I finally got one on eBay.

I'll put the PRM a big step above "decent" and for 35$ your gonna pay close to it with shipping for an OEM crapper....
I am VERY happy with their products......

i can attest tothe prm bars they hold up i have broken a few dg ones and the prm one does take a bit more to break them i have only broke one so far and have 2 of them but i have built my own the last few years

Don't forget, you WANT them to break to some extent. I've seen many frames ruined by homemade indestructible grab bars!!

Funny you should say that! My 86 200X that I have now, literally had it's rear subframe twisted up on the right side about a quarter of an inch because the genious who had it before me, no joke, had an indestructible grab bar that extended out about 18 inches! I think he built it as a wheelie bar:lol:
The DG alloy grab bars aren't bad, they're just pricey these days. I remember when they were 40 bucks retail. I think they look better than the PRMs. They're also still available for the 83/84Rs. But if you're going for value, then go with the PRMs.

I have the baha one

and really like it, I (being picky here) just wish PRM would have made them sit about an inch higher so it's closer to the fender.
I may even have another section added below the original holes so I can do just that.
Just watch out if you get a 84R rear skid plate from them beause the rear holes are drilled wrong.
