Well, props to you for letting us Know it wont work.At least not without some kind of modding.

There are like 20 threads on Z shocks. All say some fit,and work.

Some say use a banshee shock(it works),I feel that it is only a option, for a top mount fuel tank. The piggy back ressie of a shee, just runs too close to rubing a hole in the stock tank, for my preference.Especially if you jump the trike. In most cases, the ressie will be right on the tank plastic.Mechanically banshee shocks are not more reliable than any other shock.
Yes the valving is good(better than warrior or tri-z),But the average life of a shee shock is 2-4 years max,in most cases.I have gone thru 6-8 of them on 4 different shee's.

For some reason I remember, another member posted he ran a rappy shock, made it work,But in the end bought a works shock for shee.
The warrior shock is the best low budget replacement going right now($100-150$).Something you buy, bolt on a ride and works relatively well.

Just get a newer one (2001 and up) if ya can off ebay. They bring good money most of the time,so dont expect one cheap.

That should tell you something about the Yammie shocks,if warriors, and shee's are always blowing,to be sought after, and bring good money for good used ones..

If you can find a way to make the Rappy shock work, and work good, with minimal mods, that would be sweet! If the ressy hose is too short,You can always take it to a shop and have them put a longer hose on it to move the ressie where it wont hit the chain.(you still may have a ride height issue)
Last Time I had a hose extended for a shock,it was 60 bucks parts and labor. 2 years ago.

From what I can remember you had to use a 2001 raptor shock to get it to work. The resivoirs were a little different or something.

That is correct, and they'll fit on a few different machines.

Nice work bud!

Looks like you need some little rubber cradles and then you can use hose clamps (thin ones preferred) and clamp it to the frame somewhere hopefully..

Well,I was looking at the pics,Can you drill some holes in the gas tank skid plate and mount the ressy behind the spring using some warrior ressy clamps??Like flip the ressy side ways and mount it up in there? That would be cool if it could be tucked up in there.
Looks good though. So you gained 1.75 inches of height then. Not to bad.
I am anxouis to hear the ride results. We all know the Z needs help in the susp category.

:) :) :) :) like this mosh? how long is the hose..?

HEAD09

i dont know... are you talking directly behind the shock mosh? inline with the shock? if i crack the fitting to i can get more out of the hose is it screwed?(turn it) can the resie be mounted in any direction? or is there a top?brian...the hose is only 7-9 inches long....the issues are the chain as you can see and the shortness i can change that later but im dieing to ride at croom this weekend.

No Brian not like that. The hose looks to short.

Head I was thinking that if you can flip the ressy sideways(without looseneing the hose),and mount it up behind the spring,in between the spring and gas tank shield, using clamps like in Raffas pic.

So using the raptor bone the shock wont fit but using a shee one makes it work then?

Bryan Raffa

looks like the last pic the spring is hitting the swingarm..is it?

HEAD09

well heres the pictures...i zip tied to the frame so i could ride it... the only bad part being there is that its right againist the carb...also it being a little higher has the chain rubbing even more so im going to watch for that...as for haveing the raptor linkage i didnt have... but it worth i try...as for the ride... i seam to like it more, being set forward even more.... is more confortable...and raff...as for hitting the swinger it only happens when i put up hard all the way...cant wait for some jumps to see how she handles this weekend....
