OK, wanted to get people's opinions out there. Who here rides with no fork boots? Any opinions on it?

I was thinking of running none on the Tecate, but wasn't sure if it was completely inadvisable or not. I like the look of it, but also don't want my forks to get dinged up.

I ride with boots only just for that reason. When your forks get all pitted that is what chews up for seals. I have a friend who is doing a 350 rite now that is all custom colors and he is not going to run boots and it looks sweet. Personaly I say fork boots.

I like how most trikes look without boots....... but I prefer to keep em on my machines. They do a great job of protecting the sliders from getting all dinged up and the eventual leaking fork seals. Ever get pelted by rocks from the bikes you are behind? (or passing, lol) those same rocks are smacking your tubes. Cheap insurance. :beer

Personally I think the boots look hideous... The need for them really depends on how must roost you plan to eat... For a show bike or garage queen(unlike mine) I wouldnt think of putting the boots on it...

Well, that's the thing. Much of the time, I'll be riding by myself, or at the least, only out with a few people. I mean, racers never used them, so it can't be THAT horrible for the forks. I'm sure if you don't take care of the trike it could be detrimental, but I was just curious as to how bad it is for them.

I would run without... It only takes a minute to put them on if you feel the need... or cut an old set and zip-ty them in place if you plan to follow someone closely...

Yea it doesnt take much to get them on and off....either way *Edited**Edited* bike still looks like crap...lol jkjk I think they look good no matter what...just make sure you get a color that matches the trike......no lime green....lol...

Oh, don't worry. They'll match. I actually have a pair of new OEM boots in black coming. Just wasn't sure I wanted to put them on or not.
