what do you think? I have a chance to buy a 1986 kxt 250 for $200. But, it needs to be assembled. Not sure if the engine runs but all parts or there.

The engine alone is worth that price. J
ust buy it.. You wont regret it. They are a little more expensive to build up but the uniqueness of them are worth it all day long.

So what's the story on it? Did they have it all taken apart to restore it? Nice score!

if you part it out I'd be interested in the tank and shrouds.

I paid more than double that for the 86 that preddy05 had for sale, and although its ready to have a motor/wiring stuffed in i think you paid a more than fair price. There wasn't a whole to think about with that deal...

That's insane, if you truly got that for 200 bucks then you my friend just scored a major find.

You've officially made my "I hate this guy" list. :p It never fails, I'm always either too far away (currently) or too broke for awesome deals.

Wow! Congrats man. Put her back together there's nothing like the sound of kips engine on a trike. Sweet deal.

It looks like you've got a mixture of Tecate 3 & 4 parts there. The rear fenders are definitely T4, & the rear wheels have either been painted white, or are T4 as well. Still an excellent deal for the price though.

The pipe looks like T4. The T4 fenders look like they've been mounted to a T3 seat base.
New rear fenders and DG pipes can be bought for the 86/87 T3 so don't sweat it.
Nice deal.

Here is the story. I know this guy who got this bike on a trade. He was going to restore it but needed some money. So now I have it $200 bucks later. The rims or not painted they were blasted to get cromed. I might need a little help when I go to put it together. I have never worked on a kxt before always my 250r.
