Start working out with your Power Grip hand exercisers so you have the hand strenght to HANG ON.
Theres a reason the Rs were called "egyptian neck" bikes.

I looks like it is going to be sweet!!!
Watch out thow...you hit the throttle to hard in a corner and you'll be sorry.

Might just swap ends and roll it doing that. Theres nothing like learning how to power slide on a high torque engine like the R. Well, nothing except ALMOST getting it right.
Its a blast here in the desert going on the MX track and nailing the throttle, everyone and everything behind disappears. The torque lets you power slide with ease where you used to have to slow down and wrestle the handlebars to corner. Do that on an R and its EAT A TREE time.
Seriously, the most trouble I had racing (and practicing) was HANGING ON!
You wont notice the diff until it goes from "running" to "running right" My Rs engine is bone stock and makes so much power that gears 1-3 are almost useless, it just wastes the back tires.
VERY good idea to hook up with someone that has experience on it before going off gung ho on your own.

SOunds like whatever you will end up having into it will be the best money you have ever spent in your life. I had a 350X and I was like wow. But then I got my 250R and I was like. Holy crap I can't beleive I even liked riding the X. Both are fun machines I just like 2-strokes better.
