ok i thought i had it down, and then im wronge it dont smoke atidle but when i give it gas its starts smoking alittle, and if i just punch it turns black and ill let off and it smokes alittle the stops i have the needle at the 3rd clip and if i put it at the 1st clip leaner it back fires upone excelertion. it there a settin on the main jer holder i was changing main jet and i guess i unsweded it.

Your post is very hard to understand.

The jet needle affects 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. Clip goes up and it's leaner, clip goes down and it's richer.

The main jet just screws in underneath the needle jets seat, it is not adjustable.

What is "i guess i unsweded it" ??

Is the bike mostly stock?? Start with stock jetting. If the motor is lacking power with the valve train clicking and clacking around then jetting isn't gonna fix it.

Are you trying to jet because of a smoking problem??

it only smokes at 1/4 trottle to 2/3 when i get it in the main jet its doesnt smoke what i can tell the spart plug it black i need to run leaner so im going to put the 138 back in see what happens u know the thange that holde the main jet and the the other brass thange that hold it to the carb, but when i check the oil its never goin down. i put a new seal around the decompression lever now it dont leak the. modes i have is a hi comprsion 10.5 port and polished supertrapp whit all the disc out, and k&N filter not dirty

What about it??

If you have a K+N and no discs (AB lid off too??) then it's gonna have to be richer than the stock 138.

Why are you blaming jetting for smoke??

ok i thank i got it, i put every thange at stock, setting and it stoped is it good to pute around whit the modes i got it seems when i drive it hard it stopes smoking whit the setting i had before but when i got up and down the drive way. witch is about 20 yards. would that cause me to loud up in gas i can only hit 2nd gear down the drive way 3rd gear it wants to stall. if this helps any.

Check your timing and re-adjust your rocker arms. Also make sure your jets are tighten down (no adjustment here) and that you didn't loose the o-ring on the mixture screw on the bottom front of the carb.
If you leave the fuel turned on while stopped does it drip from the over flow line?
Blow through the gas cap vent and make sure the cap is venting.

the gas does not go out the over flow hole when it flodes it goes out the bottom of the little cap the u take off the change the main jets, when u take the carb off the intake boot is filled with gas. when i was at the atv shop i ask them if a unseated vavle would suck gas or make suck alittle more air and mess the carb and hard.to get the carb set.

i never did get my jetting straightened out, i was getting that hesitation right off idle when i'd punch it,runs fine,ive almost forgotten bout it till i read this,well tried to read this post....honestly it ran better with the stock exhaust,air lid on and not fooling with it,but it sounds cool anyway!

im running more modes and i want my motor to last 20 or more years but the way im going im going to rebuil it in like 2 days im tyerd of messing with it im realy going to be pissed if there is nothing wrong with the rings but this it was i was trying to explain, The question I have is the correct distant form the carb body to the main jet .The main threads into the main jet holder then the main jet holder threads into the carb. body. This is the distant in measurement I need to know.The main jet holder has a threaded lock nut on it , which you can adjust the distant the main jet is from the carb.

i give up i just going to put it in my back shed and leave it be. im tyred of dealing with it its realy starting to piss me off. i thought i did every thange right dont know what the hells wronge with it. if any one wants to buy it 2,500 i got alot more in it come get it im tyred of the freaken thange! i put new rings honed it, we did the same thange to a warrior and it didnt smoke when we was done but i did the same and it smoked after everyones telling me its gas loading up on it cus of the small area, of riding but they dont work on trikes like u guys do so im going by what u guys say. its burning oil.

the main jet should be tightened all the way down.

That nut only gets tightened after that threaded sleeve gets tightened in all the way to hold the needle jet, then tighten the lock nut. Good luck rebuilding the motor bud...
