If any of you have seen this ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2417468545&category=6725 RETRACT YOUR BIDS NOW! The seller does not own the machine! A fellow forummer (Thanks Honda300EX!) sent me the link through AIM and I contacted the actual owner (From whom I know since he hooked me up with my LRD pipe for my Z) and heres his email:

Billy,

Thanks for the email. That is indeed my Z, but I am still in Puerto Rico
and my Tri-Z is NOT FOR SALE. Looks like someone took my pictures and my
exact wording from my site and is trying to get advantage of people who buy
through ebay. I am not sure if there is something I can do about it but for
sure I am not selling mine. I'ts been a while since I dont log into the 3
wheeler sites but if you still log on you can warn your friends the Z on the
picture is not for sale.

Regards,
Orlando

I've wrote Orlando a email back advising him to contact ebay and report the false auction. djcheese, I remember you had the same thing happen to you with your KX500 Tecate project. Is it the same seller? Again, if anyone is high bidder on this machine RETRACT YOUR BIDS NOW OR YOU WILL BE SCAMMED!

Hi all,

I am writting jus to confirm HondaATC email. I will be updating my website to include a note that says the trike is NOT FOR SALE. All the wbay info was stealed from my site http://www.prtc.net/~racerx7/ytz.htm
I will contact ebay to see what can I do about it. Make everyone you know aware of this. The auction is private so I was not able to contact any of the bidders. Be cafefull on ebay.

See it's people like this who piss me off, and the fact that he will get a slap on the wrist for doing it is even more disturbing. America has a weak justice system, we put the guy whole stole a candy bar in prison for life, but the murderers, rapists, molesters are back out in the streets in 2 years thanks to parole. Ya know what needs to happen to basterds who pull stuff like this? Cut their arms off, they'll never be able to do it again and it will teach other people at the same time, you wanna try it, you'll get ya's arms chopped offs.

I contacted the seller, and Heres a copy of the contact we've made so far:

To: vic godard <vicnpen@yahoo.com>
Subject: Re: Question for seller -- Item #2417468545

I have already reported you. You know just as well as I do that you do not own that bike. I know the owner of it. And you've pulled a slick one by making the bidders private so that they cannot be contacted.

At 11:43 AM 5/31/2003 -0700, you wrote:

how are you to tell me that ,i will report this to ebay .

Your a SCAMMER and your going down buddy.

I can't even believe the odacity to think of reporting ME to ebay. If ebay doesn't do something about the auction soon I have a backup plan to keep someone from getting ripped off.

What's your backup plan?

Makes me wonder if maybe he is just using that picture to sell his TriZ... I can't believe that someone with pretty decent feedback like that is out to scam someone. Not impossible obviously, but usually you see lower feedback then someone like that..... I have on occasion seen people who don't have digital cameras and will find a pic similar to the item they are selling off the web. But i would be pretty pissed if I bought something as pricey as a trike and it wasn't exactly as the picture. GREAT CATCH on the palm trees by the way..... I didn't even notice that when I first looked at the auction.

Billy Golightly

Yes but not only did he use Orlando's pictures, he used the exact same descirption Orlando had for his on his website.

I seen a 350x on there at least a month ago and it had the exact wording from the www.bob2000.com web site's 350x. I can't remember how I knew that it was stole, but it was.

Makes me wonder if maybe he is just using that picture to sell his TriZ...

parsons, anywho, it is illegal, forgot the word that it is called when you exactly use someone's elses words for a different use. like you can't write a term paper, using the EXACT same words. if it isn't scam, which there could be that small possibliity, if he is warned, and ebay finds out, he will either have to close the auction or change it.

Great work guys. I looked at that same ad and was wondering myself. I have seen several ads on ebay for R's with no reserve and no picture. When you email the seller for pics they never send them.

Be very careful and ask all questions before you bid. If people don't respond to you don't believe them. If it sound too good to be true it is!

Hey guys, it is important to be careful on ebay but I have 3 threewheelers and they were all bought on ebay. Just make sure there is positive feedback and always contact the seller.

Im new to the board and look forward to discussing 3 wheelin'

Well said Haldo! I sell 3 wheelers on ebay all the time. There are plenty of great sellers out there that keep the trikes alive!

what makes someone want to do that, dont people know that anything done on a computer can be traced, especially auctions on ebay. he would eventually get cought. i had a person scam me on ebay for an xbox. i had enough information and i eventually got my money back from him due to local law enforcement. but its people on this site that catch stuff like that and help to make a difference, thank you to everyone

All we need to do to stop people getting had is bid £10,000 or somthing like that so you are gauranteed to be the highest bidder. Then dont buy it. and the seller is then left with the ebay fees

I have been messing with these sellers on Ebay for several weeks. Private auctions; Raptors, 700 Prairies, and Rincons for $2700 and free shipping from Europe. It's a good time. Send several emails like you are really interested. Once they respond a few times and think they have you hooked, send them are really nasty email telling them what a thieving loser they are. I have talked to other people about it and they say they are all Europeans that have stolen peoples Ebay accounts. That's why they all have a bunch of positive feedback.

The same thing happened to me recently when I tried to sell
my hog on the www.

This is how they scam.

They say they will mail you a cashiers check for 4 thousand
bucks more than what you are offering your ride for.
This is supposedly to cover freight and shipping.
In the interim sometimes they ask for your VIN #
stamped on the frame of the bike and/or your title.

This is what you tell these low life peices of sh*it.
First off you must have a PO Box.
Never use your physical mailing adress.

Tell them to mail you the cashiers check.
It will then sit in your bank until the check clears.
Once the check clears they will make the shipping arrangements.

What will happen is the scammer will know that you understand
he is trying to rip you off because he aint gonna send you a check
and if they do it will be a bogus check which will never clear.
You have now stumped the scammer.

Remember

The person who is selling ( me or you ) is never to make any
arrangements for shipping.

Things you should know

Never ever give out your real name, adress, or phone number to anyone
over the web who is making an inquiry or offer to you.
Never give out your email adress of your ISP.
Use yahoo or netscape web mail.

Never give your VIN # or registration to anyone.
If you want to know how to trace someone through
email let me know.
That is the easiest way to document information about someone
who is trying to rip you off.
This in legal terms is called fraud.
I think I spelled it right ?
Anyhoots the guy who tried to rip me off is now blacklisted from
every internet service provider.
You cant prove its fraud until you have been ripped off.
Otherwise it is only attempted fraud.

Low lifes like this should be dragged by their ba*lls from an ATC.

Never ever fu*ck with bikers.
The biggest mistake someone can ever make is to cross
brothers or sisters of the wheel.
