Is this a Ported Piston??

Found this. Guy says its a 310 duncan top end.
Is that a port in the piston I see??
Is this standard equipment on the 310 pistons??

That is a BOOST Port ... some Honda's like it !! :naughty:

That's standard on most all two-cycle engines, That is where your intake charge comes in to fill your crankcase on a reed-cylinder type engine.

Could someone enlighten me as to exactly how a boost port works?? Do they really create more power?
Also does the cylinder ports look ported?
