This has me baffled? :wondering I got a set of old pro wedges and they leak. But the weird thing about it is they dont go all the way flat. Just about halfway then they stop leaking. Anyone else ever have this problem? They leak down fairly quickly then stop.

What can be the cause of this?

Did you clean the beads on the rims?

Naw.. these were mounted on rims when I got them. I guess I'll have to air them up and check em in the tub. You think thats where the problem lies.. the bead? why wouldn't it go completely flat tho?

Is it possible that they can be stretched out. These tires expand like crazy when you accelerate. Is it possible for them to be worn out?

nah not really but i tought u sseen a small slic ein he tire? i have had a few tires leik that. its caused by the pressur einside and the pressure released lets it seal back up to a point. or coudl be from slidng it rolls the bead in a but and lets a smallamount of air escape hey i'll trade ya a liek new set of wooley buggars on liek new 200x rims for them?

Josh.. I'd be intrested in those rims but not the boogers. I love these wedges man. they're great tires If I can get them to hold air.

They both leak down about halfway... ?

they could be similar to american racers and hoosier tires, even brand new they will go flat, my new american racers on new rims went flat after 3 days, I just reair and continue, many other guys we race with have the same deal happening, no biggie as long as they dont go flat durring a race, wich hasnt happened yet.

2. Definitly not the best choice for the terrian around here. but they work wel in the snow and mud.

My stock tires will tend to do that is a get a slight puncture in them. They are so low pressure that they will leak until the pressure in the tire is no longer high enough to squeeze the air through the pin size openeing in the rubber. Hence, half flat.

I remember while everyone was on the road ride, 1/2 hour after I got to Brapp's, watching you from about 5MPH passing by me & you "gav'r the beans"- MAN both tires looked like they were having difficulty holding the rim, Seriously, the right one especially looked as if it was gonna de-rim with your large frame at the helm, but I didn't get the show, like what I expected, but JEEZ, that right rear just about slipped off the rim & that's all I'll admit to seein', TGG............................................... .......

Chris, I have had numerous tires do this. It is almost always the bead somewhere that is leaking. And if I mount them, I make sure that the bead is spotless and I run sandpaper and WD40 over it to remove any imperfections yet sometimes I still get a leaker.

Funny thing is, if you air them up to about 15psi and dunk them in water, there are no bubbles. But run them at about 5psi and it will slowly leak out till the tires are aired out about half way.

I believe the only solution is to use SLIME in there. Usually I get pissed and just sell the tires and buy a brand new set mounted.

I have had brand new tires leak on the bead - Bandit A/T's and ITP holeshots cheapos, not the XCR's.

This is of course unless you have a small leak somewhere. I use dish detergent and a brush to check for bubbles if I can't find a big enough container to dunk in.

air it up and put in the tub.... probably something on the bead from you running them with low pressure...I bet theres mud in there.. I got a big chunk of wood stuck in my bead:( and a dent .. from when me and Paul went out at night..there was a lot of hidden stuff out in them woods at night..

they probably go flat half way because theres not enough pressure to make it leak

When i mount my tires i use Dawn dish soap around the beads to assist them to seat. Then i leave them at a higher pressure (10-15psi) for a little while to let the soap dry. Then i drop them to operating pressure (for my paddles 5psi) My Kenda Geckos on my 83 250R have not lost an ounce of air in 3 years :w00t: And the tires i dont use dawn on have some sort of leak around the bead

get some bead sealer. pop both beads, clean both the bead of the tire and rim good, then slop the bead sealer all over the bead and rim. then air up the tires till the beads pop, and let them sit for awhile with about 10-15 lbs. til the sealer dries, then lower the pressure. the sealer should seal the beads.

I've had real good luck lately with the pre-slimed tubes.

Welp, A little update for anyone who cares.

32 oz. of slime in each tire seems to be doing the trick. They've been holding air perfectly for 3 days now. w00t!
