Best thing to do is to put a reserve price close to what you want before you start the sell. Honestly it's your bad, the right thing to do is to send the tank to the winner.

well, their is not a good, nice, honest way out, but their are ways. but if you wanted to get a specific price, you should have set the starting price higher or the reserve higher.

Sorry to hear it man. But you'll get the hang of it. And you certaintly don't want to get negative feedback on your first sale.

When you absolutely must get a certain amount, you have to pay a bit extra and set a reserve. Hard lesson to learn bud....

Sorry for your loss.
You need to get your feedback up first.Buy a bunch of things and get that number up.
I have only been selling now for 5 months.
You will get the hang of it?
suck it up man... thats the way things work, I have managed to list each listing under $1 and when I know I need to get a certain amount I put a reserve on it and start low.

The problem with a reserve is,if the price is not met you pay that fee.If the reserve is met, then they refund the fee. Most times the price you want doesnt cost what the reseve auction would have cost.I start most auctions at $.99-9.99. But on an item I want a certain price for.I start it at that price.I never use the reserve option. It is a hard leason to learn.I am not sure why it cost so much for the fees? What was the starting price?Anything under $.99 is only $.20 cents insertion fee.And at $6 bucks ending they are making like $.30 cents themselves.Did you list it wrong as well?
Dont worry,Someday you will throw a part up that you want $10 bucks for.You will get like $60 and wont believe it.It is hit or miss sometimes.I bought a set of stock 300ex tires and rims at a swap meet. The guy wanted $20.I asked what did they come off of?He did not know.I said Ill give ya $10 for not know.He said cool. I came home, and check the wheels out.I knew they were honda rims. But was unsure of the tires. They were in nice shape.Very little use and no scratches on the rims.I listed them on ebay.Started the auction at $9.99. In the end they sold for $112.00. I just could not believe it.One of my best sale.Dont give on ebay yet.Wait until all the new rules come into affect. Then youll be mad!! Good luck.

what new rules? I need some tips for ebay, i just started and don't know much. So if you use the reserve bit it costs you the amount of reserve you have on it? The tank deal might be off, he didnt read the payment instructions and wants to do a money order, when i clearly said paypal only. So if he has paypal ill send it. I dont know what the fee is, but when i checked "owed fees" or somethng of that nature, it said $3.50.
