Woohoo! Got new 200x stuff in the mail today!

I won a pair of Super Scoops for my 85 off eBay and they came in today. Feel like a 10 year old that just got his Captain Crunch decoder ring in the mail!

I am going to replace the plastics on this one piece by peice as the previous owner took a DA to all the plastics (that he didn't hack off). I guess to prep for paint. My tanks scoops were not cracked but what a pain to wet sand and try to buff out. That led to plan B, buy new stuff. I started with the Super Scoops, and next will be either a 250R or Maier fender and then we'll tackle the rear plastics. I had to try and save a pair of cracked up plastics off the 84 parts trike because he hacked the rear fenders off.

Its amazing the difference those super-scoops make on the early X models. Gives the trike a whole new look... kinda meaner in a way. I like it. :beer

:lol: Thats funny Saleen.... the only thing that keeps my wife off my 86 or the KLT250 is she's not familiar with a manual clutch... and for some reason I haven't gotten around to teaching her yet, lol :cool: . We are in the middle of getting a 250sx set up for her though, an upgrade from her 125m.... she'll be a happy camper. :beer

I figured her learning the clutch on the X will get her ready for a Harley sooner than later. She figures she is too uncoordinated for the whole clutch, shifting and balance thing. She has the shifting down pat, she'll be riding my Super Glide by summer....... :D

Woohoo! I got more stuff in the mail today....

Thanks to Moshman for the 250R front fender. I got a wheel and tire in the mail from DidrtDigger also.....haven't gotten that on yet. Think I am going to repaint the Hub, but not sure if I'll do it red or blue......or maybe Gold....

So glad to get some sort of fender on the rear, and get rid of the short front fender. Now I got to get the Kenda Dominators on it.

I NEED A TAIL LIGHT IF anyone has an extra for cheap or free!

Y'know, I just HATE the way some guys hack the rear of the rear fender off, but maybe it's to save it from cracking even more. My '86 200X came that way.
I really like the head light guard, Saleen, I can't remember seeing one like that before, can anyone chime in as to who made 'em? It can't be Hondaline, can it?

i have that exact same guard on my X. every time i turn the wheel all the way, the bolts that hold the guard together dig into the tank shrouds. yea, who made that guard?

I don't know who made the headlight guard, but my bolts were massaged enough to JUST clear the shrouds. It just brushes the left guard but I mean just grazes it. I am sorry I had to hack the rear fenders but when I got it it had none, just that little remnant of the rear fenders that had PERFECT OEM decals on it. The fenders I had were in real bad shape and had ugly 14 ga wire stitches in them.

Did the best with what I had left. At least it's symmetrical. They'll work until I find some better fenders or just black out this one. I have already changed out all the plastics already, just do it again in black!

I got it back together just before dark.....what do you think about the Gold hubs? I figured if I couldn't find 250R rims, I'd play some.

I don't know but I would like to. I have to be in Tampa FL the weekend before for a Mustang Race, so I'll be recovering from that 1100 mile drive. I would like to and try to pick up that 86 200x from the 200xBasket dude for my black 86 200x project.
