Ok guys (and gals),
I am looking for pics of the Franks Three Wheeler. Anyone with these pics or info please post it. I am trying to gather a database for all RACING three wheelers...Selvys, Franks, Tricky Dicks, The Kawi 200R folks, Tiger, etc. I want to compose a small book of info and pics of the History of RACING THREE WHEELERS. I will be awesome when done. My wife has this program that we can make a book and have it published hard-back for about $75-$100 per book. This will be a long project, but you guys helping I can do it. Thanks in advance for the help.

I ment to say IT will be awesome when done. That's what happens when you don't read your post before you post it.

The original owner of my 250R package I bought last year had this Maico made for him out on the West coast. All I have is this snapshot of it that was buried in a pile of papers. He sold it some 15 years ago and has no idea where it may have gotten to. Pm me and I can forward his contact info if you want to do some research on it.

I hope that you understand that there was 3 wheeler racing way before there were suspension trikes. They were racing hardtails way before trikes like these were ever made. If you don't include them, then it isn't much of a body of information. Also, alot of the early racing trikes weren't made by the so called specialty companies. Many aftermarket frames found their way into racing. Nicholson especially. I hope you do alot more research.

You're right. I will include some Nicholsons, 90 Racers, Maico, Yamaha's before they made TRI Z's. I want it to be as complete as it can be. This will be a project for this year. There's no way I can finish it all up in a couple weeks. This thing will be awesome when done.

I'm glad to hear you're putting in the older trikes too. Seems like alot of people don't hardly realize they were racing trikes before 1980. Alot of the old pics and stuff I have, I was asked to not post. Sorry guys, but I would not want to compromise the persons trust that I got them from. I'll try to dig out what little I have that is postable.

The $75 to $100 a book is my cost from Creative Memories computer based publisher. It will be hard back glossy color inside and out. It will worth it. I will only charge cost plus shipping. Just for all of us to have a book will be awesome. I know I'll pay it. Heck, I've paid UNREAL amounts for 3 wheeler stuff. I am dumb though. No, wait. My wife said I'm dumb. hahaha. Love you, babe. Seriously, the book will be great. If you don't want one, that's ok. Send all info and pics to razorbackatc@yahoo.com Thanks!!!

I just now noticed something really cool about that franks chassis. The swing arm bolt and the rear engine bolt are not one in the same like almost every rear suspended trike I have ever seen. This would enable you to pull the motor and still have a rollling chassis without putting that rear engine bolt back in. That is cool as heck. Just an observation.

No, i'm not saying I wouldn't want one. Just, holy dang that seems expensive! It better be good! Freakin' 500 megapixel photos on every page! I actually am pretty stoked on seeing the end result, even if I won't be able to buy it.

I thought the swinger bolt went through the back of the engine. Hmmm - you learn something new everyday.

Hi guys. I just got back from the Shot Show in Las Vegas.
If you need the Photos I get some good ones for you of the Franks and the Nicholson 500X. $75 $100 for a hard bound... I'll buy a couple of them (Think of what those will be worth with all the machines in them and the wealth of info that those photo's will have!).
The Franks and the Nicholson both use dedicated swingarm bolts from the engine mounting bolts ( nice idea! ).

Don't forget the Sanders Suzukis. As far as I know, they were the only Suzukis that were built during the glory days.

Have you thought of contacting racers and see what kind of pics they have? I know a couple members on here raced and some members on .org raced also. Some have posted old pics that maybe you could use with permission but I would think there would be plenty more. Maybe you could post a thread on both websites, stating your intentions and ask for any old pictures that people wouldn't mind being copied. Maybe you would be surprised how many ex racers lurk these sites.
