Anyone know of a fix for the horrible turning radius on a '06 Honda 450r? Earlier this winter I was riding my cousins 450 with enough snow out to make it slick and ended up slidding off the road because of the unability to counter steer far enough. Anyone else notice this problem?

switch to the 04-05 spindles and hubs.

there are steering stops on the bottom of the steering stem, grind back a small amount evenly on both sides until you are happy with the countersteer.

there is plenty of meat to go all the way untill just before the stock offset wheels will hit the a arm.

3legged: Will just switching to early spindles/hubs work, or will the steering stem stops need to be ground down, so they work inconjunction with eachother?

Have also heard people grinding too far and the bars will lock in full turn and not come back on their own. I did some reading on exriders after posting the question here. Thanks.

no need to grind

the 06-07 bikes have extreme caster and they push

the early spindels will help

Ok, thanks, do you know if that was fixed in '08?

Just to make sure we're on the same page, it turns fine trail riding, but say turning around in a parking lot riding slowly, the wheels just don't turn far enough. I can sit on the 450 and turn the bars and look at the tires, sit on my '89 250r and do the same and you can tell the tires are turned way further. So spindles will still help? kinda threw me when you said it pushes.

my tag steering stem is a plus 1" and turns like i stated above. it comes real close to the a arm with the stock front wheels on it, which is exactly how i had my stock one ground down before i bent it.

never had a problem with either one "locking up" on me. .02
