Hello all. I'm installing a new cam and adjustable cam sprocket in my 200x. The cam gear came with no instructions. I do have a cam spec card with my new cam. I have my degree wheel installed and set at TDC. I have my dial indicator installed and set on the valve end of the rocker arm. So 2 questions.

#1 Anyone have instructions for the adj. cam gear? As in what combo of holes will advance or retard the cam and how much for each?

#2 What is the rocker arm ratio for a 200s rocker arm? I need that to do the math to check my cam install. I can't put the dial indicator straight onto the cam lobe because of the valve cover.

I did find my timing marks are off by a few degrees on the flywheel.

There are excellent cam degreeing instructions on Web Cams site. I can inform you of this. You can NOT get accurate data with your dial indicator reading from the rocker arm! The rocker works on an arc.

You MUST locate the indicator so that it takes readings from the valve spring retainer.

Good luck and ride safely

I'm using the Webcams instructions. Placing the dial indicator tip on the retainer makes sense. Still need to know the rocker arm ratio to figure it out though. I think I've figured a way to do it with the valve cover removed, allowing access to the cam lobes directly.

I do appreciate you scanning that in Bryan. The idea that someone would go to that kind of trouble to help someone they've never met is encouraging. Thanks!

Makes me wonder how I'm gonna attack the 86 200X. The way it's set up, you can't get to the rockers or cam at all once it's installed.....
