View Full Version : 85 350x timing adjustment (i need help ASAP!)

hi, im new here and i need to know what the timing adjustment on a 350x is, its a 85 and it has a Web cam, Weisco high comp. piston, along with a DG slip on. the only problem im having is the timing adjustment, im new to 4-strokes so i don't know much about timing so does anyone know what the adjustment or w/e you call it is with these mods? please help :confused:

well, its not doing anything because its taken apart at the moment, but when it ran the piston was hitting the valves... and you couldn't give it throttle without it bogging out. so all i need is what it needs to be set at

If your new to 4 strokes the best thing you can do is first buy a manual, then read it and last open up to the chapter on cam chain timing and your good to go!! :beer
Unless you can simply apply of engine knowledge over to the 350X. At TDC the "T" timing mark will show on the flywheel and at that point if firing, your on the compression stroke. Otherwise your cam is 180 degrees out. Glad I could help.....:welcome:

well i know some knowledge about 4-strokes but not alot, and isn't there a timing adjustment screw? sorry if i sound arrogant

I'm the one being arrogant, lol......
Left side cover, center plug spins the crank, offset plug shows the timing mark. BUT, if you wing it without a manual it'll end up on EBAY with the rest of em....

i know where the flywheel is, but i couldnt find the T... i have people who know how to work on 4-strokes help me but they arnt helping one bit...:(

Get a good flashlight and look for a slight notch. Put a straw in the plug hole and that will get you MUCH closer.

ok, im understanding this better now. im still somewhat lost, but im gonna look for a manual but there so expensive...

You don't live too far away,I would suggest bring it by and i can have it in spec's in a very short time.

for free? that would be great, i asked my dad where exactly Columbiaville is and he said no too far away. so maybe we could set a date. this will really help me out haha
